F***ing stop comparing him with Mac Miller
Both released s*** debuts — Mac improved a ton and hopefully Jack will too.

Jack will never reach the level of Mac respectfully
Y’all need to stop with that

I mean this isn't true
That's What They All Say was not s***.
Blue Slide Park really not that bad either, just corny frat rap.
gang gang gang is 100% one of those songs that attempts to tackle a social issue but does it on such a surface level that ends up saying literally nothing and asking no questions. just "here's a problem that exists" over a beat. it will be incredibly overrated by airheads that think any mention of a social problem = being conscious and lyrical
tbh hes prob just not that smart of a guy where he knows how to extrapolate this to something "deep" or structural
i give him credit for at least trying to do something "challenging" vs just making generic agnostic pop music, which he could have chosen to do instead

Mac is an influence, Jack wears influences on his sleeve
that’s the difference here
regardless of your thoughts its hard to argue that this isnt better than his last output
jackers we won and we back

BSP was like a side detour from the real type of music Mac was making though, something no one ever mentions and seems to have been mostly memoryholed in music discussion circles
BSP was 2011 and was a moment in his career...he wasn't a frat rapper, he took a detour to do frat rap when he signed to a label.
by the time, BSP came out the already had KIDS, BDE, and I Love Life released, all of which were completely different and are far more in line with what people consider "good" music from him (KIDS especially, since the others were like half and half). Macadelic was then less than 6 months after BSP.
If anything BSP & the "frat rap" half of BDE were a detour from his career and not something he grew out of.

Jacks debut was great now that I look back at it
It Can't Be is literally a white boy anthem
when racist twitter gets ahold of this one it's over
We Cry Together been slandered consistently, but it’s way more creative then what Jack did
I wasnt looking for creativity. Just an interesting story and jack delivered that and ended it with a beautiful conclusion
the jokes write themselves on this one
russ is so obnoxious man
song fire though
This statement tells me that you can’t listen to music by yourself. Weird
Come over and we can listen to that one together
