fam said that Kanye was conscious on the same album that he said he got a dark and a light skin shawty looking like Michael Jackson. And had a song so "vulgar" the only way we could hear it was if Kanye censored his lyrics because it was an Aretha sample lmfao.
Plus his whole "Louie Vuitton" backpack gimmick he had.
You can be a conscious rapper and still have other records bruh. Common is an example of this. Back then, Kanye was viewed as a conscious rapper. CD and LR are in that lane. Im not gonna continue this debate with you tho we have two different perspectives on conscious rap
A lot of rap fans today wasn’t fans back when Kendrick and Cole used to have “stunting” verses lol
Kendrick "activist" fans would s*** bricks if they heard We Ball verse.
I wasn’t ready to be this let down man. Knew something was up when the tracklist was so short, all this years in the making talk had me expecting way more
Victim complex
obsessed
Once again you quoted me.
because you're itt doing what you always do. hating
So what's everyones consensus on this album
Ever since street rappers got lyrical, Cole feels redundant. Album is an answer for a question nobodies asking anymore
yes or insane comments like "bro hes just rapping what about the conceptual sht and music"
I swear half these niggas wouldnt have appreciated rap in the 90s or 00s
Their a bunch of f***ing losers
Keep in mind Cole haters are usually those dumbass white kids tbh
because you're itt doing what you always do. hating
How tf am I hating? I was praising the album all last night and this morning

Lmaooo I swear
I'd say the beats in particular. I'm not hating on it just for the sake of hating on him bc I actually like most of his other albums, but a lot of the beats here sound flat out amateurish to me. Also the whole thing just feels like a giant freestyle, there aren't really any actual songs here that I'd want to listen to again. Full disclosure i turned it off on track 8 so maybe the back section is better but i'm not feelin it.
word
i've been trying to find any cole posts or statements about this project from when he first announced cause i'm almost sure it's meant to have that mixtape feel. it's crazy how the whole album/mixtape/playlist etc. really f***ed the game up lol
i would say let go my hand (track 8), close and hunger on hillside are more "actual songs" so i'd def go back to the end of the album at some point if you're interested.
I said this before but this album is what KOD shouldve been, KOD was held back by s***ty hooks and bland production
100% truth. There was a lack of diversity on it
How tf am I hating? I was praising the album all last night and this morning
Everything is hating
Just confused how this was apparently years in the making
Griselda drop like 10 albums a year in the same vein as this
I love every beat on here
First beat is definitely some strong mid, could even say an amateurish vibe
Ever since street rappers got lyrical, Cole feels redundant. Album is an answer for a question nobodies asking anymore
I enjoyed it

he floated on We Ball i gotta play that today
So what's everyones consensus on this album
Much better than I expected, including mixtapes probably 5th in his discography for me behind FNL, TWU, BS & FHD. Nice to hear the hunger in his voice, a couple of the trappier sounding tracks bring it down for me and the features could’ve been better. But in all very enjoyable, maybe two tracks I didn’t f*** with
