IDK what the general consensus is but I love the album . exactly what I wanted from a Cole project . solid 9/10 for me rn , I can see this surpassing FHD as my favorite Cole album fr fr
J.Cole really said lemme drop once again the same album but Imma sprinkle some feats on it this time
My initial thoughts was this couldn’t have taken years to make like he tweeted.
While the lyrics are good, it does sound like every other Cole album I’ve heard. Flows and lyrics are of the same content, attitude, energy, delivery.
If this is what Cole brings then that’s fine. I honestly like KOD which is ironic because that’s the first project he tried something new with a concept
I give this album a 7.5/10. I don’t see myself coming back to it too much except for a few tracks. He bodied a lot of songs because we know he can do that. Would just like a little more experimentation. Anything.
Great album, but it kinda felt like Cole rapping trying to prove how good he was rather than coming from any kind of real inspiration or purpose. Some excellent songs though.
well if he didn't outright say that, he definitely alluded to it. idk maybe everyone hasn't caught the doc or been following the rollout cause it's all laid out pretty clear
he's said how he just wanted to get back to basics, how he was writing in his mixtape days when the goal was to tear nigga's heads off. proving how good he is was really the purpose.

this might be why this album reminds me of iyrtitl a bit

it's not the only thing he's been working on for years. it's just that he's had records he was sitting on for either this or The Fall Off so both projects are "years in the making" essentially. they may not come out and say it all the time but plenty artists work like this.
Instant classic! S***s better every listen. Killa Cam opening the album just somehow warms my f***ing heart he a whole legend
Bout to listen

oh well cool then, I haven't been paying much attention so it wasn't really what I expected

yall would NOT have wanted that.
Cam'ron's rapping/voice has degraded heavily over the years.
He would bring his top bars for a cole project
Only ktt music sxn lames think like this
In the real world niggas will prolly be playing both
