doesnt sound like the national at all
i havent heard all their albums though
It sounds like their newer ballads from the last few albums
Which makes sense because members of the band contributed to the writing
nah man mt marci his worst by far those loops <
Dawwwg. I love that album lol
TEMB is by far my least favorite Roc album. Feels like he completely stopped taking risks
@sfsorrow Do you guys appreciate The Avalanches for their use of samples? Or can you just appreciate the songs themselves at face value? I'm asking as someone who tried giving some of their music a shot, but nothing really stuck
I think their use of sample collages on Since I Left You is incredible and really appeals to my sensibilities as a fan of 60s pop music, the mood is like the greatest party on earth and some of the stuff is really danceable, with Frontier Psychiatrist being such goofy fun that it always makes me smile, it feels like hearing music for the first time as a kid. I'd definitely recommend giving it another shot. Recommended tracks - Since I Left You, A Different Feeling.
Wildflower is where they start to get into actual more conventional songwriting, with a lot of guest vocalists, there's a similarly playful feeling, but the whole thing, from the samples to the lyrics, really captures the freedom of adolescence and the passage of time, there's a lot more variety here, from 80s-style Hip-Hop to Beach Boys-style summer tunes to Dilla-esque minimalist sampling, but the instrumentals are beautiful throughout. This one always makes me really emotional, it's so fun and pure and bittersweet. Recommended tracks - Live A Lifetime Love, Subways
We Will Always Love You is essentially a concept album about how sampling can be used to make someone's voice carry on, keeping them alive forever. The vibe is very space-themed and is their most conventional in terms of songwriting, with a real cosmic beauty to the production, there's so much love that comes through the whole thing. Recommended tracks - Always Black, The Divine Chord.
I’m more partial to Jim Jones and Juelz than Camron. He’s the most skilled of the 3 and has the best albums but seems too polished or sth for me to feel a connection to his music

I love them because of how the songs come together more than just the idea it’s built by samples. Since I Left You is fully samples only, no original instrumentation or vocals, and that’s what I loved from them before Wildflower came out. But then Wildflower just blew me away on release and I think it’s stronger than their sample only stuff, while still having all the same strengths that made it so great. The added instrumentation, guest vocalists, song structures etc give it so much life and personality. Wildflower is incredibly unique in that way, it feels like an entire natural world itself that lives in the music and people they’re inspired by

elephant man bones isn’t exactly that high ranked for me for roc not even sure it’s in top 5 but it’s def better than mt marci. i felt mt marci was cool but some of those beats were just no…
PARTYMOBILE was a great album. People just saw the cover and decided to have a hate parade
cover isn’t bad either, it’s pretty clean
Sour by Olivia Rodrigo was wildly overrated
nah, it's not a perfect album by any means but it produced three iconic singles which is quite a feat, some of the album cuts don't hold up quite so well but it was such a fun era overall, it'll easily go down as one of the most memorable pop records of the 2020s

Him and Al met in the middle, that’s what makes the chemistry so good
This applies to Haram as well (even if I don’t care for that one)

Title is lazy too. Didn't he get the idea from his screen in his car when he'd connect his phone via Bluetooth or something

south park is absolutely unbearable and i judge people who enjoy it
How many chromosomes do you have???
Not going to say he's top 10 ever or something but Kenny Beats gets more criticism than he deserves on here and I think it's because he's white
The spoiler was unnecessary we already knew what u we’re gonna say 😂😂
How many chromosomes do you have???
this is exactly the type of response i expect from a south park fan
Watch S4E3 “Born 2 Die” then tell me what u think. It covers similar ground to what you’re bringing up.
Will do appreciate the rec
When Sophie died people were like "oh she died trying to reach for the stars", nah she just fell off the roof while high on d****. I don't understand why we have to glorify accidental deaths, s*** is setting bad examples.
take a legend’s name out of your mouth
Better Call Saul is the best drama because there’s no Walt Jr. There’s no Janice Soprano. There’s no Marie. There’s no AJ. There are no characters who exist only to be annoying
Every character in BCS is mature and entertaining to watch
