You should be more concerned about the underlying economic forces behind all this. It’s bigger than Drake. Notice how things like crypto, weed, and gambling are all becoming deregulated in quick succession. Why? As Marx pointed out, in a capitalist economy there is a tendency for the rate of profit to fall in the productive sectors of the economy over the long term. Capital tends to flee to speculative and “fictitious” assets and open up new markets as this law begins to assert itself, in hopes of maintaining its sinking ship a little longer. A large economic collapse is on the horizon. Stop worrying about Drake and get organized!

The amount rappers promote d*** use and violence in their music is fine. Where we draw the line is sports betting.

niggas love saying this when it's like, yea thats bad too?

oh, and the fact that, there's a difference between using your art to paint a picture vs actively promoting a tangible product for consumers. If rappers were selling d****/guns online, yea I'd say boycott them too.

This aint the gotcha you think it is blud

I always felt weirded out how he chose to promote gambling. I always thought about how by the sheer mass he’s reaching that he’ll inevitably send some people out there into straight gambling addiction and ruin their lives. He no doubt ruined lives because of his promotions.

This guy really hit the nail on the head tho. Drake and all other rich people taking money from poor and middle class by offering them and promoting gambling deserve a special place in hell

But d*** dealing and murder is fine? You know you’re allowed to bring your brain on the site right?

    That's not whataboutism.

"Drake is a piece of s*** for promoting sports betting and is ultimately making money off the future affliction of the children who watch his streams and present suffering of gambling addicts."

"OK, but what about all the rappers that promote d*** and alcohol abuse? Why aren't you criticizing them?"

    It's definitely whataboutism

    That's not whataboutism.

it's still silly, you don't see rappers getting sponsorships from big pharma/the gun lobby (at least publically), which is the differene

Ain't nobody saying boycott Durk, Von, or Shiesty's music bro and they're all promoting that lifestyle very tangibly in real life.

Whataboutism is a logical fallacy that is irrelevant to the actual issue in place. Here, it's a completely relevant retort to point out that hip hop has its bad faith immoral actors, Drake is one of them, and saying we should boycott Drake and not all of the people promoting ignorance toward children is stupid.
