It’s never been just one album
Always a gradual decline in respect for the artist
Jumping ship cause of one album would be wild especially if they have a good track record
Jumping ship off one album is funny, niggas got a brittle spirit lmao
that pop smoke song made me a cudi fan
thats crazy
that song and album was horrible
that album was cudi stepping fully into making songs for “the kiddies”
I get way more joy and fulfillment out of donda
TLOP is an interesting full experience but the songs themselves don't do much for me
Most people who rate it super high are the folks where it was their first Kanye album experience
New Again, 24, Up From The Ashes, Life Of The Party, Heaven and Hell & Never Abandon Your Family are always good songs
I think for you & me, TLOP has a stain on its because it was his first misstep, whereas Donda 1 is firmly in the washed Ye era so we are shocked he even put together something coherent & something that has interesting song concepts
If 2022 Kanye released Donda it would seem like a step in the right direction
I've always been anti TLOP but I need to accept that it is definitely better than Donda
Ah yes the delusion from Kanye stans that support a trash album no matter what.
(Borderline) Classic album
uknowwhatimsayin was def his weakest to date but id say it was the combo of Quaranta and Scaring the Hoes that finally convinced me he was done
i still had hope after JIK and ye combo
jik was egregious and sign of the “mid/late career slump” many great artists have
but despite having higher highs on DONDA, i kinda accepted ye wasn’t the kinda musical artist i was interested in anymore. the final product was a mess
the first listening party was messy but starting the album with 24 seemed like he finally was entering that balance between the religious undertones his discography always had with the secular thoughts of a troubled family orientated man
he just couldn’t capture it. it’s one thing to have a redundant theme, it’s another to not be able to express is without mountains of industry bullshit. hurricane never needed a lil baby and the weeknd. despite both artists still being popular it instantly feels dated and forced
"Wake Up Lucki" just stopped giving a f*** about his music with that one and every time I try to check his new stuff out it's just ehh to me
flawless like me has classics
s*** gemini got classics
in retrospect gnx is a good album that feels great given its a victory lap for the greatest rap diss of all time and is released at the twilight of raps mainstream dominance
gnx is really good, just not even close to how monumental a kendrick album can be
and for me it was much better than morale so i was happy as a fan
actually im being nice, f*** y’all niggas
gnx was the first instant classic in a long time for mainstream rap
WSG one of my faves (as you can prolly see) but he loses me more and more with the small insignificant tapes he drops
I just want FIAAG3 dawg
Donda 1 is so fire but yeah steep drop off after
im extremely bias cause i went and saw Donda at the Mercedes benz stadium in Atlanta during the pandemic and i was on shrooms it was a crazy experience
never played the album again tho
in retrospect gnx is a good album that feels great given its a victory lap for the greatest rap diss of all time and is released at the twilight of raps mainstream dominance
If you’re a fan of hip hop you have to be a fan of gnx idk how someone could hate on it
If you’re a fan of hip hop you have to be a fan of gnx idk how someone could hate on it
this is exactly how i feel too, i honestly was tryna be nice
there’s niggas on here that rate gnx lower than fantano
yt boys connecting with real hip hop more than niggas
it’s a sad reality
