Ehh I wouldn’t necessarily say either of those are bar heavy songs. They are just vibe songs with different flows than what a traditional drake track would present. I guarantee you there’s no reference for rich flex, middle of the ocean etc.
You have to remember too.. reference tracks are not the be all end all. There’s a lot that goes into it than just pressing copy and paste.

JbreezyondeckI don’t remember who said it in the other thread but it really feels like Kendrick was under the impression that he was setting up for HIS moment vs Drake but then Metro orchestrated this Drake hate avengers group and I really think that f***ed up his momentum. Kendrick is clearly the #1 out of that group but he is a part of the group by association whether he wanted to be or not. Really tough spot for him
This is a real good assessment. Kendrick wanted Drake 1 on 1 if they were going to do this but like you said he got mixed up with all them. That can’t be what Kendrick wanted. I f*** with this take
