Kanye, and hear me out, Childish Gambino

Gambino unfortunately operating at a lower level but awaken my love switch up was crazy

Another thing I appreciated about kenny was that he operated in a chaotic period in rap, to be know as the greatest of his time in a era with brand new sub genres, stiff competition from the biggest pop rapper of all time, audience apathy with conscious rap and trap influence running rampant. All the kids that rap and dress like pluto, carti, drake and Sosa but somehow the rap crown still belongs to the nigga who never wavered with his style , did his way word to f***ing Sinatra , goat of goats, kendrick lamar

    all time performing artist

Yes, jid is taking Kendricks place as the bright spark cause although he's older , we lump him in a different generation, he's clearly the best, little simz for my money but yeah, he's got variety, I ain't know he could sing but his writing is...all over the place idk, I can't explain, it's not deep

I ain't even think he knew he could sing

Who at an all time level is doing this, top 5 level cause yall including niggas of some other tiers :ariscared:

You haven't listened to a lot of hip-hop albums if you think someone is operating at an all time level when their last album was Mr Morale

Please tell me how I am sucking off fatd when I never claimed it's an amazing or classic album?

And lastly, he's probably the most bulletproof well rounded of his class. He's got the West coast by him, black Hippy tde, he's got the culture and critics and the old heads and recently, the new generation of kids of tiktok and everything. The beef definitely had a surprising after effect only cause drake decided to minimize Kendrick

  • May 27, 2024

id get how drake fans can say mr morale is bad when u look at what bro has been putting out since 2018. and im even excluding "more life" from that conversation

  • May 27, 2024

Another Kendrick moment OP didn't mention that stuck with me is when he had a concert on a moving truck and people were mobbing around the truck lol, causing the concert to be cut short because too many people gathered. Kendrick literally shut down the whole city on some Pac s***.

    Mr Bojangles

This beef only cemented what most hip hop heads knew--that talent wise, Kendrick was the best of "the big three".

I think both Drake and J Cole are overrated, especially J Cole, but they'll still be considered all timers at the end of the day. They're just not as high on that list as Kendrick.

cole ain’t going anywhere on any all timer list of mine that’s for damn sure

I knew it’d be bad if Midrick succeeded in the beef considering the cartoon-like cult religion type of demigod worship his corny ass fans do for his music — but I’m not sure I can endure an entire summer of this level of d***riding.

These daily worship threads are an embarrassment.

Once you realize it’s just Internet nerds and the real world is still waiting on Kendrick’s response

They think cuz a song turn to a meme it means something lol

I was outside in a big city across probably 20 different bars this weekend. Didn’t hear that song once

He's the only one at his level that still knows how to use his time to make great music. He has fun songs here and there obviously but for the most part everything he does takes time and sounds like it takes time and that's always the best music.

I feel the only thing he really needs a another influential album. I feel like he has the torch in his hand right after taking that s*** from Drake and Cole.

Kendrick's influence on the game is huge, but it just hasn't reach the mainstream level yet. I believe if he comes another classic that can open new wave of lyrical rappers. I feel we'll finally make some progress for hip-hop.

I see what you are saying but ultimately I feel like it has a lot of room for improvement. And it's important to point out that I am not talking about commercial performance or replay value - I am talking about the certain things he tried to do with the album.
It's not easy to have replay value when you go with a more artistic product, which is why I don't always think it's a must when discussing all time great albums. An example is one of the artists I am a fan of. His absolute best album for me, and one I consider a classic, is also the one from his many albums that I listen to the least.

Morale is always being thrown to either side of the extremes. Some think it's a classic because - I assume - the topics are so relatable for them and the album speaks to their souls, while others dismiss it and don't see any appeal to it.
I don't see any arguments as to why it would be a classic but yeah as I said earlier, I don't think it's bad

    That’s fair
