Cole's cool imo but I just can't consider him a top tier artist. He's reliably good but he has to elevate if he wants more people to consider him the best.

yeah, I definitely don't have Cole as my top rapper

I don't even have him in my top 5 or even top 10 tbh

Drake sxn of KTT is and always has been one of the most embarrassing places on the internet and you've been a major contributor to it for years

I fw you but let's have some self awareness for a second

I knew it’d be bad if Midrick succeeded in the beef considering the cartoon-like cult religion type of demigod worship his corny ass fans do for his music — but I’m not sure I can endure an entire summer of this level of d***riding.

These daily worship threads are an embarrassment.

Cole hate is lowkey corny, what are ya'll hating on exactly?

Ngl, of the "big three" he's the one whose hype didn't match the music .

I liked a few songs off Cole World but it's an underwhelming debut.

Born Sinner was also eh, but had some good moments.

Loved FHD, cried to Love Yourz. Great album.

Didn't care for 4YEO, but I got a feeling I'll appreciate this more as I get older so I'm gonna revisit.

KOD was absolute s***. His worst project by far.

Off season was pretty cool. I found it overall okay but Cole was on fire, rapping wise.

Might Delete Later, same feeling as last.

These are the albums I've heard, outside of the mixtapes, and the goat talk just don't match up imo

Do you really believe Cole is touching kendrick on a good day, that he can match him, classic for classic, moment for moment, song making for song making? I don't. Cole has always been kendrick less talented cousin, he's scrappy

ok but going from that to hate and down talking the man is just corny

I'd rather have Cole than not have him

  • May 27, 2024

Kendrick only one in his class who's been surpassing his idols slowly, nigga 38 or sumn, God willing he gives two more classics, idk man, there'll be no debate about him being #1 then

nah, goat talk definitely does not keep up

but tbh I like Cole specifically because he's not a hype chaser. hype chase rappers are not my s***, maybe I'm just old now.

Megamorter, brother, this is rap, we are an unforgiving audience, Cole knows, you know how many years this nigga Cole been clowned, the only thing that has seemingly bothered him was the being placed third which I never understood, he could have addressed the boring beats and subpar writing

Meanwhile Drake stans are completely normal and don't base their whole personality on who their favorite artist is at all and definitely don't act superior because of it

Exactly, thank you for pointing this out.

I love Kendrick Lamar, and I think he is probably the GOAT of hip hop from the 2010s generation.
I wish that some new rappers would come up in this generation who could rival him, but it feels like the youth isn’t interested in traditional style hip hop anymore, it’s depressing

    Not on my watch

Im finna find me some spittas, and put these niggas on the map, because we can't let this whole decade be just Cartinese children

Kendrick, Tyler n Rocky the big 3 visual artists. The N95 video is gorgeous and every shot is purposeful, hell even rich spirit is purposeful

Bro has crafted great music along with great visuals. The great music videos goats of our time, Busta and Missy gave him props. The heart part 5 video took the internet by storm. Alright video iconic, DNA, element, humble, swimming pools. It's a different layer of his dedication to craft. Bro and Dave free got something beautiful together and I ain't talking sme girl for the b**** ass pedovos

to be honest, I'm surprised Kendrick is still putting in the effort

I would've got jaded and dropped 20 hype track albums and said f*** it

bro really believes in himself and has good people around him. bless him, that's amazing.

JID is actually improving. Deadass was caught off guard when I didn't find myself scrambling for the skip button when one of his recent songs (at that time) came on. That Surround Sound joint ft 21, but there's also that Kody Blue song (swang on swang on or sum) and it's showing his range

Denzel is coo tho. I like a song or two

Yes, jid is taking Kendricks place as the bright spark cause although he's older , we lump him in a different generation, he's clearly the best, little simz for my money but yeah, he's got variety, I ain't know he could sing but his writing is...all over the place idk, I can't explain, it's not deep

    I LOVE JID

    AND EARTHGANG

    AND MEREBA

    AND ALL OF SPILLAGE VILLAGE

I was listening to them back in 2014 with Bears LIke This and so much more

I feel like I'm on such an island alone. The EARTHGANG tapes are so f***ing good and NO ONE talks about them

I earnestly hope the day when everyone can understand that Mr. Morale is one of the best hip hop albums of all time one day comes.
It’s not what was expected or what is typical of hip hop today, which is why I think it got so much backlash, but it’s just such a singular, yet widely relatable piece of art that it deserves its flowers.

I see what you are saying but ultimately I feel like it has a lot of room for improvement. And it's important to point out that I am not talking about commercial performance or replay value - I am talking about the certain things he tried to do with the album.
It's not easy to have replay value when you go with a more artistic product, which is why I don't always think it's a must when discussing all time great albums. An example is one of the artists I am a fan of. His absolute best album for me, and one I consider a classic, is also the one from his many albums that I listen to the least.

Morale is always being thrown to either side of the extremes. Some think it's a classic because - I assume - the topics are so relatable for them and the album speaks to their souls, while others dismiss it and don't see any appeal to it.
I don't see any arguments as to why it would be a classic but yeah as I said earlier, I don't think it's bad
