Bari post in op
Seems like sacrifices were made in VLONE Mosques in order to get Ye back to massive relevancy
ye plat with 7 songs
that's pretty difficult to do; look at my dear melancholy and untitled unmastered
great tapes but that's not an easy feat in this era
Some of these weirdos in here love to talk s*** about Ye
The casuals f***ing loved ye. It was only KTT and the stans that expected more
y'all sayin travis but his s*** really gonna take a hit from astroworld incident. believe it or don't believe it but I would bet money his next album isn't as successful as astroworld as a direct result.

They meant in 2018.

he already lost 7mil monthly listeners
I don't think any rapper has gotten themself into a situation as f***ed as his
people (not just here) are convinced it's a one sided relationship that consists of jay exploiting ye for personal gain and ye doing nothing about it
I know ye’s a jackass but Hov was not too far from john legend at one point in terms distancing himself from Ye for probably public perception/ political leaning reasons, if you’re doing that with someone you’ve know for like 20 years what the hell do you actually stand for

He'll be fine as long as the music is amazing.
If it's mid....
Then he's prob outta here
Actually MCHG first week sales (without the Samsung s***) out sold Yeezus in 2013
Yeezus is undeniably a bigger album than Magna Carta Holy Grail. Yeezus out performed MCHG over the long term. Yeezus has twice as many total streams.
Yeezus
Total streams on Spotify: 1,313,879,324
Daily Streams: 795,755
MCHG
Total streams on Spotify: 625,164,582
Daily Streams: 154,311
In 2022, Yeezus is being streamed about 7x more per day than MCHG

Yeah streaming wasn’t big at that time in 2013 so it makes sense. I was just speaking about the year of 2013 when MCHG was initially the bigger album
Yeezus surpassed it in the long run but at the time it was bigger especially with the hits on it
The post I replied to said at no point after 2010 was Jay bigger
btw kanye ranked #6 in a qualitative poll about most liked celebrities in the US by gen z
he's really big w young people and already was w 25-35 crowd
so it was inevitable that he was returning to huge status when finally good music dropped
this is legitimately the key
he has unprecedented and very organic appeal with gen Z (and the reasons for that would make for a pretty interesting convo IMO)

what rzns do u think
what rzns do u think
I think there are a lot of factors at play TBH
for example gen Z is characterized by a lot of hopelessness and alienation
now whether you think kanye is sincere or not, he comes across as someone with a sweeping artistic vision that doesnt feel manufactured/commercialized. I think it makes sense that this appeals to the younger generation
Yes, he's a top 5 rapper commercially and not 5. He was for longer than ktt thinks, through 2018 he was huge. It was only JIK that lowered his standing. Culturally he's top 2 rn.

I would also wanna add that his persona is soooo refreshing amid this manufactured celebrity landscape and just comes across as very direct, authentic, and unapologetic, which Gen Z loves. I really wish kanye could tap in more with the youth these days instead of the usual established old folk that he’s been hanging with, cos I really do think he could have a second career peak.
the legs for those albums were practically nonexistent. they dropped off the charts after a month
KSG has been on the billboard 200 like 2 out of the last 4 weeks
Ye making religious albums and then doing photo shoots like this:
is like those pastors who wear chains and fly private
Still inn for this era
Sacred and the profane

yeah that’s why i said “were”
cuz at the time those albums came and went
