I like Ye a lot. It gave us Ghost Town which I’ll be forever grateful for and other very good songs.

I don’t like thinking about Ye in a silo, it was a part of the Wyoming Project that collectively produced so much good music. I don’t think it’s ever been fully appreciated what Kanye created for himself, Push, TT, Nas and Cudi.

Yikes just recycles Wolves hook (same melody, just different words). The fact that Drake of all people was credited on it during their feud didn't help.

All Mine is catchy but that aside completely forgettable, it's one of those nasty Ye s***songs that I don't care for. Ant Clemons sounds goofy af on the hook, Ye should've let Jeremih or Thugger perform it instead.

This project suffers from demoitis and even with some improvements, would've made more sense as an EP if he really HAD TO release it.

How many times have you heard JIK? On my first listen I thought so as well but then I spinned it a few more times and realized that it's clearly better.

Not really demoitis cause we never heard a demo of it, when Pusha said Teyana had demoitis he meant cause Teyana left Kanye in Wyoming to let him work on the album for weeks without really being involved in what was the final product

i think its mad how even tho JIK has a more defined subject matter than Ye that it feels so sparse and lacking direction

at least on Ye we got a proper opener (in my opinion one of Ye’s best ever songs opener or otherwise, pre-sample removal) which really gave you a snapshot of where his head is at that you just dont get on JIK

on JIK we get a truncated snippet which bookends the album with another one, for me really summing up how rushed and unfulfilling this project is

and if anyone wants to say the album is about his faith and not himself, that’s fine. but he doesn’t even manage to do that in a satisfying way, letting his ego and hollow bars get in the way of what the album is supposedly about. at least Ye was unashamedly a personal album, JIK cant decide what it is.

It does suck that some songs on KTSE just reuse the 1st verse as the 2nd verse with no change on some copypaste s***, that s*** actually pissed me off upon repeated listens.

I'm not super hot on Ye or JIK (I think jik more though) I feel like if Kanye took these two albums, fleshed out the songs more it would be a great album.

Idk bro, to me JIK is a very peaceful record for the most part that invites the listener to self reflect. It's about a man who finally finds redemption after years of battling addiction, loss, mental illness and at last, suicidal thoughts.

It's a call to separate yourself from modern society and peer pressure which instill ideas like consumerism and popularity contests and go back to the old ways of family values and tradition, as well as sustainability, in that way it encourages mindfulness even more than ye imo.

I actually think ye achieves self-reflection a lot better than JIK and recognises that there are a lot of problems in his own life, but JIK is the logical next step Kanye's taken to become a better person

Every song on ye recognises Kanye's faults and most of the tracks on here are about redeeming faults and becoming a better more pure person

you see i don’t get these calls of avoiding consumerism, especially when Ye is claiming he has a divine right to charge overpriced fees for his products on On God, if anything he’s revelling in it
