These are worldwide sales and not sure if single or album (pre sure single sales)
Sales very much are part of what makes a great rapper, specifically album units, in the US (Billboard Top 200)
That tweet stupid to anyone tht understands sales lol
If you really want to make this argument (still stupid but more merit) Nelly would be a better example
It’s hilarious how Drake stans on here will be so openly critical of every artist under the sun, but as soon as someone has an ounce of criticism to apply to Drake, y’all wanna act like y’all have this air of nobility
I don’t think it’s that I think it’s more so trying Ja rule Drake and you can’t do that to somebody who been at top for last 15 years
You sure you’re not the weirdo?

This will never be the "gotcha" moment you think it is.
The man has continuously told us that his music is directly informed by and influenced by his real personal life. So no, it’s not weird when his personal life is then getting criticized as it has a direct impact on his musical output
Most artists draw inspiration from their real lives in their music, that doesn't give you or anyone else the right to make determinations about how they should live their lives. The mere fact that you even think you have that right shows that you're too far gone.
How stupid do you have to be to think a 37 year-old man needs to live his life by your standards? Who the f*** are YOU?
This will never be the "gotcha" moment you think it is.
You made a megathread about a 3 year old man
flo rida had a few hit singles thats about it but he was more like tpain or william than an actual rapper.

Nobody ever said or implied this btw
Numerous high profile artists’ real lives get scrutinized heavily. Have you forgotten the namesake of the site we’re on?
Drake is not special nor above this criticism when you live your life as publicly as he does
Social media has really deteriorated the minds of an entire generation of people into thinking they actually know who ANY of these celebrities/public figures are lmao.
NONE of us know who Drake really is. He gives us bits and pieces in his music but that doesn't mean who he is on songs is the sum total of who he is in his real life. I bet there's still a lot about himself he has never shared and will never share (as is his right).
Y'all just need to stop acting like weirdos with regards to that man and trying to psychoanalyze his every move. Just enjoy the music for what it is. Y'all can do it for other artists so it shouldn't be impossible to do it for him.

Nobody ever implied or insinuated that we know the man personally.
Everything we criticize exists in his music as well.
The mob boss persona, the fake accents, the leeching of other cultures, the appealing to a younger crowd, the hanging out with girls extremely younger than him… literally every single one of those things exists in his discography

That being normalized doesn't make it okay. And no, you're not "scrutinizing" his life, you're making assumptions about who he really is as a person, which is ridiculous considering the fact that YOU. DO. NOT. KNOW. HIM. None of us do, that's my point.
? Drake is actually a much more skilled rapper and better all around artist
no one remembers anything Flo Rida outside the hits

Except you don't just criticize the music, you criticize his life and how he lives it and insist he isn't being a genuine person. All those conclusions are ridiculous because you don't know him, period. It's one thing to say a song/album is bad. It's another thing to criticize his lifestyle because you feel you know him well enough to know what kind of life he should be living, especially considering how y'all don't do that to any other rapper. That's where the ridiculous obsession y'all have over him comes into play. Even fans doing it doesn't make it okay.

But the man has told us for fifteen years that his real life informs his music.
By criticizing his persona in records, we are therefore then criticizing his personal life.
Drake is not an artist that separates his real life from his art, he’s told us that numerous times
3$ for regular white eggs you mean? Or for the fancy free range store bought ones? When i go to my family’s farm I get the eggs for free
We touching them dark yolks, and I should've said pasture raised instead of free range

Then why his last 5 features completely flop and now his only way of coming back is doing the Vultures collab method?
Flop is a financial term if we're going to use it can we try to use it properly?

So I can’t say Drake faking an accent he doesn’t have is weird because I don’t personally know him?
I can’t say that him rapping about 21 year old girls is weird as a 38 year old man because I don’t know him?
I can’t say that him wanting to fit in with the younger crowd as an established act by making music that appeals to streamer audiences is weird because I don’t know him?
I feel like the general consensus is the exact same as it was before, both sides are just louder since the beef. And since drake is continuing to move as he usually would (and Kendrick is quiet as he usually is), all convos are geared at drake and trying to relate every move to the beef…but in general, the beef did close to no damage to his career/legacy imo, people had their sides chosen before the beef. And those who didn’t and are just casual fans, the majority already don’t care and are going to continue listening to both sides, it was just a moment

He is an artist. You're stupid if you think every single thing he says in songs is true or not at least slightly exaggerated from time to time for dramatic effect. He can be honest about most things in his music and still exaggerate or flat-out lie about certain things because that's what all artists do, regardless of how autobiographical they are in their music.
Your first mistake was thinking Drake was the first artist in music history to not do those things. And even then, that doesn't give you or anyone the right to tell him how to live his life, regardless of whatever persona presents itself in his music. Common sense dictates that you know to enjoy the music for what it is and you leave it at that. Anything more than that and you're doing too much.

The thing about Drake haters too is what they’re drawing from is not anything that he gives us (his music, interviews, etc), it’s stuff they’ve made up or projected onto him. It’s the reason someone like Kendrick can say some s*** like “he lied about his religious views” when he literally never talks about his religion. Or when they say he’s insecure about being mixed when he clearly isn’t lmao

Everything I have criticized him for in this thread has been exists in his music
You sure you’re not the weirdo?

She once said in a post that this post wasn't creepy at all because she is a female and not a male. trying too hard to excuse herself of this weirdo behavior
I swear to you I'm not joking

His Toronto accent isn't fake.
There is nothing wrong about him rapping about 21 year-old girls. Lord knows it's rappers who have said and done a lot worse than that.
There is nothing wrong with him appealing or trying to appeal to a younger audience. That's something every artist that's lasted longer than 10 years in the game has tried to do one way or another.
