Consumers will always have a say
Not when there's enough consumers like that guy who actually get to the bag and have no problem with dropping $80 on games
nintendo when they realized fans will not only pay increased prices but will also bend over backwards to defend their right to charge them

nintendo is so anti consumer its insane that they get away with it
yall are so brainwashed like they arent nickel and diming us on every corner
we're not even getting good completed games for $80
not to mention charging us for online which is literally all pure profit basically
Charging for online is the most clearly exploitative practice. Steam doesn’t do it at all
mario kart world at $80 is a good, completed game (and it was $50 vs. just buying the console)
its not worth $80
and a console bundle subsidized price isnt the price of the game
Variable pricing is the way. Not every video game should be $80. Some can justify it and I don't mean by volume of content. I would pay $80 for a new Kojima title. I would not pay $80 for a new CoD.
mfs not realizing that development costs went up, shipping and distribution costs went up, marketing costs went up, etc etc. braindead

There's plenty of excellent, content complete games at or around that price point. People need to stop buying the ones that aren't.

the value of something is inherently defined by what people will pay for it

You’re right. Throughout the years I’ve criticized various Nintendo games and consoles and it’s almost cult like how Nintendo can do no wrong
Not when there's enough consumers like that guy who actually get to the bag and have no problem with dropping $80 on games
You know u could go to jail for that right?

which is nintendo's model going forward
good thing gta 5 was priced at $60 and generated $8.6 billion USD in revenue
GTA 5 cost 150-250m to develop
GTA 6 is costing 1.5-2B

$8.6 > 2 no?
good thing gta 5 was priced at $60 and generated $8.6 billion USD in revenue
great example! GTA V released in September 2013 at $60. for the U.S., adjusting that out to today's dollars with inflation (which exists btw) would be $82.37
which is nintendo's model going forward
Yep. They already announced and showed they are variably pricing their games
$80 for tentpole titles (Mario kart, 3d Mario, new zelda probably)
$70 for else (DK bananza)
$10 Nintendo switch welcome tour
Americans benefitted from video games being overpriced in the 80s or whenever they first reached $60. It couldn't increase with inflation rates, so you guys were paying that same price for over 3 decades
Had video games actually been reasonably priced back then, there probably would've been more incremental price increases over time and games would be $100 today without this much of an outcry
which is nintendo's model going forward
Variable pricing has been a thing for all three hardware platforms for a long time. Astro Bot wasn't full price.

never liked online gaming prices otherwise im on the developers' side with this one
