2. No one cares about what the modern generation likes, their taste and artists are trash
3. Horrorcore exists within the subculture of rap, and at a different time in society. That's not something equitable in this conversation
2. I dont care about the modern generation taste but Tyler saying Ian is trash or a cultual apropriation on a public platform is like "cool so what" . Its the same exact s*** he was told ABOUT HIS MUSIC AT THAT AGE
everything before flower boy he was told the same exact s*** he saying right now
3. That is relevant....
while I personally don't really listen to Ian or love his music he is defnitely more in touch with modern generation than Tyler the creator
The modern generation fw Yeat more than Ian and I say that as apart of Gen Z lol
Ian is another meme that’s gonna get driven to the ground unless he proves he actually gives af about the genre
Was it Tyler who rapped about smashing a pregnant chick and calling it a threesome? That nigga was a W I L D B O Y
like wtf are we talking about right now what Tyler is saying is true but its also HYPOCRITICAL
STOP ACTING LIKE THIS NIGGA GIVING PHARRELL LEVEL GEMS
The modern generation fw Yeat more than Ian and I say that as apart of Gen Z lol
Ian is another meme that’s gonna get driven to the ground unless he proves he actually gives af about the genre
Well yes but they f*** with both overall. Everything Tyler said about Ian could also apply to Yeat in many ways
Was it Tyler who rapped about smashing a pregnant chick and calling it a threesome? That nigga was a W I L D B O Y

What differentiates Ian from Iggy Azalea?
Find me a freestyle where Ian is going off like this. I'll wait

Take your time pleighboi

what did yeat do to show that he cares about the genre and what has ian done to mock it? not being snippy just looking to be educated
speaking of lack of personalities, yeat's biggest issue is his complete lack of any personality in the name of being mysterious
Of course white and black and every race of artist are going to imitate the most successful rap artist of the past decade. Is some of it cultural appropriation and swagger jacking? 100%
But we dont own a patent to what the f*** we do
Post Malone with Rockstar has the only rap song to clear 3 billion streams
people emulate and get more success because they are white this isnt new
s*** existed even with Eminem to some degree which Tyler looks up to Em....
Classic, but if any authorities are reading this, my account and all my posts are complete satire
It's ironic because Ian got a lot of cosigns from Lex Luger , Metro Boomin , Sonny Digital. A lot of the ATL producer scene because it was homage to producers like D Rich , Shawty Redd and Zaytoven. I think Ian's beats ( Sxprano) are really interesting its like old gen/new gen blended.
Because Atlanta as a whole is losing they cusp on the culture so they going the YWA by collectively backing this nigga that's not even from here.
Instead of tryna organically cultivate the next big thing like the Futures, the Guccis, Wakas, and the Young Thugs, Atlanta is becoming like everywhere else just doing the short term goal by these bullshit cosigns including producers that it's been quiet for a minute (e.g. Lex Luger)
Not even a fan but Lazer Dim is literally right there from Cordele but nah, all the OGs wanna back a white boy from Dallas????
F*** outta here son. Niggas like Nudy and Kenny Mason are right there bro I hate the way this city be moving. Thug got knocked and Takeover died and niggas been lost ever since.
what did yeat do to show that he cares about the genre and what has ian done to mock it? not being snippy just looking to be educated
Yeat actually put effort into carving his own lane and respecting his OGs, while constantly evolving and taking the artform seriously, whether u like what hes putting out or not. He seems like an actual fan of rap who wants to add something new to the genre for the love. Plus theres even authenticity in his raps. He only talks about what he knows for better and worse: staying out the limelight, buying guns and material s***, and his struggles with d**** (for the most part)
ian is just a country club white dude cosplaying.
Can't complain about cultural apropriation when many artist CHOOSE to cosign a yeat or Ian or they play festivals
you are letting them in
Classic, but if any authorities are reading this, my account and all my posts are complete satire
My point is that I'm cool on the holier than thou act, there's subsisting subgenres that's been influencing artists for millennia and are within the culture
That ain't the same as a white boy mumbling over 808s with scamming ass representation and don't deserve low effort parallels that don't equate
yeat does some really creative things with his voice and uses it as an instrument they’re not even comparable at all aside from being white
Tyler was writing rape fantasy at the same age and was only accepted by the public with Flowerboy so he shouldnt be the one to say it even if I get what he saying
Unless we keeping this same energy for Em (not saying you but in general), we gotta keep in mind Tyler's thought process at that time.
You (probably didn't) could see in the interview where this came from that Tyler said he was heavily inspired by Dj Quik's storytelling on his albums.
Even if the stories were f***ed up, young Tyler was still making concepts around the said f***ed up stories. That in itself is still 1000x more work he's putting in at 18 f***ing years old than Ian.
What differentiates Ian from Iggy Azalea?
TOO MANY OF YALL EUROSTEPPING THIS AND I'M JUST CONFUSED
Don't ever disrespect King Twizz by comparing him to this alpha phi beta gamma country club sperry wearing f*** face again!

i think ian just gotta expose himself more
tmk he hasnt said any s*** like im only in this for the money or anything like that, and so im kinda struggling to see the difference
didnt people also think yeat was black before they saw what he looks like? idk. just seems like ian being put under a scrutiny some of these other white artists like harlow or yeat havent had for whatever reason.
the sentiment is that there is some respect missing from ian, but has he spoken about this yet ? im sure while he hasnt lived the s*** he rapping (plenty of these guys dont) i dont see that as some blatant disrespect though.
yeat does some really creative things with his voice and uses it as an instrument they’re not even comparable at all aside from being white
Yea, yeat isnt making a mockery of the genre. he is actually influenced by them at thats fine.
But when u cosplay and your proud of it, flaunting your parents money and making your rich background part of your schtick. Thats trash.
We barely know anything about yeats life.
i also dont think ian will have any sort of longevity but assuming hes going to be some post malone that raps for exposure then pivots to country or something seems like jumping the gun
what did yeat do to show that he cares about the genre and what has ian done to mock it? not being snippy just looking to be educated
In Yeat’s case he has a unique sound and style that makes him stand out (at least) whether he cares about rap or not idk but he stays in his lane for the most part
Ian just seems like a gimmick by rapping about trap s*** while using his prep school image like he’s some sort of YouTube skit parody. It’s disrespectful cuz theirs people that actually was (and are) in that life and you got this kid from the suburbs using that to profit off a genre he probably started listening to 8 years ago
