Still like this but not as much as I did initially, some of these songs don’t warrant the long length.
exactly what i was talking about yesterday in here
its still a good album
This album has a dark ass creepy undertone that genuinely gives me anxiety when I listen to it
There's a contrast between pure euphoric bliss and this underlying darkness that's so f***ing unsettling and it breaks through in Warlords
the constant heavy breathing and the sounds of screaming is f***ing terrifying
Yeezus influence
I hope he doesn’t update the album with a cover or names for the tracks.
Love it the way it is 🔥
stfu
Not everything has to have a direct influence to tie back to lmao
This theme of underlying darkness seems unique, the contrast is jarring

And that way it pisses all you nerds off too

Gambino is clearly inspired by Kanye, I didn't mean to take anything away from this record, it's absolutely unique in it's own way but that 24.19 outro screams I Am A God. Wouldn't be surprised if 32.22 is inspired by Yeezus/Kanye too amongst other stylistic elements many of which aren't as direct as that outro which is why I use the word inspiration here. Kanye didn't invent everything in music but Kanye is that guy that a lot of these artistic self-producing folks like Bino, Tyler, JPEGMAFIA "grew up" with musically so it's absolutely no stretch that he's looking up to him. He called him a genius and "the best" in the past.
Still confused about the presentation of the album (title + track titles), but I love the songs. To early to say where I rank it in his discog, but I think its a really great album.
Hopefully he does an interview for this, would love to hear about the processs of making this album.
Someone get this man in the studio with Ye IMMEDIATELY
S*** I need him the studio with 3k

i feel the same way. "we are" gives me a strange sense of anxiety that i cannot quite describe. it might be the breathing and the reverb of the distorted vocals. this album makes me feel like that several times throughout.
i was so lost in the music I didnt even realize thank you was 8 minutes long tf
Damn it is??? Doesnt feel like it.

Might grow on me but for now I'd give it a 7.
is it just me or was the whole project hitting differently when I assumed Violence to be ~track6? the final tracklist doesn't sit right with me for some reason. not that I can't rearrange it myself but I was wondering if its just me

prefer this one
violence and under the sun as the last gambino songs are perfect
Only gets better each listen.
Still hope he updates it with the art though lol

Feels more influenced by classic pop, soul and funk artist than anything by Kanye. Maybe one song at most sounds somewhat influenced, but that’s it

Seriously think this guy hit the nail on the f***ing head
most of this is what I've been thinking the whole time, just unable to articulate it

This is a crazy read, time to listen to this again lmao

Same
OG flowed incredibly when warlords was the intro and sweet thing I believe was the last song
Warlords sort of let you know from jump you were in for some other s***
We are worked better as an interlude track rather than an Intro because of how different the the vibe for the next couple songs were
I think I’ll definitely end up changing it back to that

it's better with the official trackless. the space between thank you and warlords is brilliant
