Why are drake fans saying this is anti Drake?

It just goes to show Drake made really strong moves in the industry if anything, who is saying this is bad?

Agreed. This isn't bad if anything it's great news. Drake can stand up for other artists now that he has power

That 2010-2013 label era really should be examined more often. Not the music, but the business that was going on back then. Odd Future, Rocky, Drake, Nicki etc were all able to sign real money deals in that era, they had real contracts they made money. And then, even an act like Trinidad James blew up off All Gold, made his money and walked away from the industry super easily.

And don't forget Death Grips signing to Interscope outta nowhere, doing one album and walking away from their deal clean after one album under. Scope. As soon as Apple Music hit the market, the game went right back into labels hand.

Gamma distributes music for both Rick Ross and French Montana. Even Champagne Moments, so how does this tie into the beef?

Rick Ross had to call Drake to clear the song dissing him but French a cease and desist

Before you "run the show", you got to get in and know how things work.

Larry Jackson is black and he has other black people on the executive team.

Would rather a black man be making decisions and having influence on something like this.

But the minute yall see white people at the very top, yall have something negative to say.

All skin folk aint kin folk but I understand where you coming from.

Just look at Drake’s past. He gave away many artists biggest hits when he barely had enough for himself. Drake is a generous guy you can see it in his actions. I'm confident he will continue to put on smaller artists like he's done since The Weeknd. Only now he has the infrastructure to do it instead of the ovo blog

I ain’t mad at him… but I’m not in the music business. If this is the root of some artist issues not Drake I also understand their gripe.

@magnolias since you financially slow, when ur looking at this image, picture UMG in the middle and then a branch outwards and then a big fat picture of DRAKES FACE on one of the big circles and then every rapper under UMG in the small branches that go outwards

    Except artists aren’t corporations

That’s exactly why the Drake s*** is slimy

They were struggling to move units with internet piracy and no streaming yet.

People like BoB's album flopped (84K 1st week back then was a flop compared to say 50 Cent's major label debut 1st week) and the labels had to figure out a way to make major money again. They saw how Tyler was able to craft a grassroots fanbase that they could take a percentage of. So they would give him and some that came after decent deals. Also they developed streaming (convenience trap) as a slow burn new revenue stream.
