For the sake of this argument lets restrict poverty talk to developed capitalist countries like the US, Canada etc cause obviously if youre from a third world country being poor isnt your choice
Niggas be in the club or at footlocker or Dolce and Gabana stores throwing away money they could be putting into savings or a ROTH ira
Or even better the stock market
These be the same niggas who be living paycheck to paycheck down bad complaining about how they pockets dry
Whats stopping us all from being like HOV
self made billionaires and s***
Some people don’t have what it takes
Some people prefer 9-5 rather than being entrepreneur.
a few hundred dollars isn't gonna change if you're poor or not
You sure about that?
Not really, it's mostly about the opportunities you're given and how you handle them. But just because you handle them poorly doesn't make it your fault.
There's so many things that have to line up just right for you to create a successful entrepreneurship.
At the end of the day, hardwork pays off, but the payout will vary based on how fortunate your situation is.
Then when you think about how time consuming learning new things is when you're trying to work full time and maybe even raising a family a long with having fun with yourself and having a social life.
Eh it’s hard to draw a line. There are people who just aren’t intellectually gifted enough but the issue is that should that be a death sentence?
Especially with the vast amount of wealth developed countries have
sometimes you’re born into it and often times, have to work harder to receive opportunities to progress
a few hundred dollars isn't gonna change if you're poor or not
You know money adds up fast right?
Some people don’t have what it takes
Some people prefer 9-5 rather than being entrepreneur.
Most people can't be an entrepreneur because they don't have a good idea to risk their money on
You know money adds up fast right?
Most times it's more than just "stop going to Starbucks bro!"
Wow @op fixed poverty by telling people to stop buying Prada and invest in STONKS
I don't want to be mean but I don't know if you're joking or just completely living in your own world
Waiting for this to devolve into another capitalism vs. socialism argument ft. the usual suspects
Anyhow, it's not a choice, but people aren't taught financial literacy nor do a lot of people have the excess capital to effectively take part in the "free market."

You can be gifted and poor
Not to mention generational poverty

I don't want to be mean but I don't know if you're joking or just completely living in your own world
My point is niggas dont understand that you dont have to spend every penny you earn
Niggas be getting they paycheck then going straight to the Nike store
Most times it's more than just "stop going to Starbucks bro!"
True, I know like not cooking your own food and purchasing outside often tanks your finance more than you think
Thankfully I'm not too much of a spender on s*** like clothes and electronics, but man I be eating out too much these days
Evil stock market will divide people‘s wealth and widen the gap of broke people and rich f***s. Op an advocate for the devil
True, I know like not cooking your own food and purchasing outside often tanks your finance more than you think
Ofc that's why I cook my own food and barely consume products, but it wouldn't put me in a higher wealth class if I just do that
If I was poor and I did that it wouldn't make me richer, and the people who invest in stocks have enough spare money to invest in stocks anyway, that's why rich people also make the most money out of stocks and it's more of a cheat for rich people to become richer
My point is niggas dont understand that you dont have to spend every penny you earn
Niggas be getting they paycheck then going straight to the Nike store
Yeah okay but that's not really a fortunate title if you simply wanna talk about people being bad at personal finances
If you want the answer to the question in the title than probably 1% of people living in poverty are in poverty bc they simply spend money on stoopid s*** like designer clothes when they should be thinking about feeding their kids or maintaining a roof over their head
I agree that if we started teaching kids to save money and treat it with respect some people would be in better financial situation
But saying poverty is a choice... nah
