Along with madvillainy it's the best piece of art of all time.
not even the best ye album, relax my man
It’s ok to acknowledge Ye was an amazing producer/curator but he doesn’t care about the mixing/master aspects as much, He’s not Dre
And I’m saying the bad mixing on MBDTF does not add any character to the album. The mixing on SRS does
I also don’t believe it was intentional, It was the result of Ye working on so much music, Rushing and making last minute decisions. The exact same thing has happened with almost every album after it besides Yeezus
TLOP was so bad at first they had to update the mixes. Ye himself has acknowledged multiple times that mixes on his albums need fixed. Bro had Mike Dean working for so long at one point he had to be hospitalized
The biggest inspiration for Twisted Fantasy is Wu Tang Clan (90s NY hip hop in general really), to have a super clean sounding album when you're paying respect to Wu Tang is silly, it needs to be rugged and textured and have soul
This was from an interview in Jesus is King era where Consequence talked about how Ye likes mixing to be done and it's applicable to lots of his artistic choices:
“So, dealing with five engineers or three engineers, I don’t need a kickback from anybody to show favoritism for a mix or a master. I want the best product. “Follow God,” for instance, the version that’s on the album is a dirty version that got cleaned up. In this day and age, Kanye and I both decided, “No, let's just do the dirty one.” It’s not like it’s on a two-inch tape where everything has to go in unison. Just put the dirty one on it. That’s the one. It doesn’t matter who does it for me, it matters what feels authentic, and what feels like the people are going to gravitate to it."

his discography has had a big impact on my life and I'm naturally a simp for things I adore and appreciate. On some days I do prefer Donda and TLOP.

i'm confused dawg, could you repeat that?
Pure Souls with MBDTF mixing could solve world peace.
"the truth is what you get away with"
Never understood the whole argument of “uh it’s supposed to be mixed bad”
Unless its something like Some Rap Songs it would objectively be better with amazing engineering. Y’all need to listen to Random Access Memories on some good headphones
no no no no shut up @notbrock you're wrong
Never understood the whole argument of “uh it’s supposed to be mixed bad”

random ass memories on some good ass headphones sounds like the same s*** i grew up with listening to my parents music but just to confirm we're talking about same thing and i can confirm you are a f***en d***head
this album is referenced so frequently in music discourse, even I fall into the trap of thinking it’s overrated if haven’t listened to it in a while
album is too loud but is otherwise mixed fine
It's a little cramped and distorted but I can hear everything clearly. The mixing is fine, it's the master that's kind of s***. The vinyl master sounds better.

it's a smooth album when you disassociate a bit and listen hey

@notbrock have you thought about this a little more and reconsidered your smooth brain position? or are you fighting for it?

Why you so hostile about this? Like god damn man lighten up lmao
If you’re saying Random Access Memories by Daft Punk isn’t mixed incredibly well then I can’t take anything you saying seriously

I hella forgot people use to say that it’s supposed to be mixed bad lmao

I don’t even know why people get so mad and defend the mixing so much, Dude above you quoted that post like 4 times and literally had a meltdown
It’s one of the best albums of the 2010s, One of Kanye’s best and easily has some of the best production the genres ever had
It just doesn’t have the greatest mix, Regardless if it was intentional or not. Cherry Bomb by Tyler was supposed to sound like that, Guess what? It’s still ass
