When discussion albums or music people often use phrases like "this album has 0 skips" or "instant skip". But I think often times people don't even have the same definition for skip.
Is it only a skip if you NEVER want to listen to the song or can you also use the term, when you only want to listen to the song sometimes.
What is your definition?
A bad song.
a song i skip when it comes on
A song that I skip when it comes on

This album is a good example for me.
If I use the defintion that a song is only a skip if I never want to listen to it, than this album has 0 skips.
On the other hand Sao Paulo is a song that while I like it, it has a lot less plays than most other songs on here.
So is it a skip or not?
A skip for me is usually a song that's either painfully boring or just audio terrorism. Sometimes there is a song in-between my two favorite songs on an album and that unfortunately gets skipped regardless of quality sometimes
middling song is also a skip it doesn’t have to be awful

Depends if you’re a full album sort of guy. I only ever listen to this as an album so it has no skips because each songs adds to the atmosphere. So I never think I’m going to listen to Niagara Falls randomly even though that song would have my most plays

I'm both. Sometimes I just want to listen to my fav song of an artist, sometimes I want to experience the whole album.
But as there imo is no album where every song is a 10/10 of course not every song has the same number of plays.
E: Niagara Falls is my most played song of HUT btw

best song on the album by a country mile. I can't even name any other songs from it off top besides timeless. those 2 songs could have been the owbum fr
This is really one of the quickest came and went albums of the 2020s ngl
Hard disagree. Imo one of the best albums this decade.
This now a HUT appreciation thread

It starts playing, I give it a chance and if I like nothing about it by after the first verse and first hook -
BEAT IT CHICK
Incredible album

i skip it
If I’m listening to a whole project I try not skipping even if I don’t like it
If it’s a playlist then I’ll skip if I ain’t in the mood for it, not cause it’s bad
I tend to listen to albums all the way through, so any song I skip has to be truly awful on a level that destroys the album experience completely
If it’s on a playlist, I like it, but I’m just not in the mood at that exact moment

Similar for me, especially with first listens of new albums.
By this definition pretty much all the albums of my favorite artists have zero skips
Actually I got one better: I feel me forcing myself to listen to it for the sake of not skipping, that’s a f***ing skip. Songs that are chores to listen to on first listen become skips from that point on
So most songs on most albums but I know you music niggas won’t like that

Then you just don't like the song.
With Sao Paulo as my example. I don't force myself to listen to it, there still are enjoyable moments on the song, I just like the other songs on the album more.

How many songs are really a CHORE to listen to though?
I feel like the internet generation be doing too much with the idea of what a "skip" is
