Ehhhh @op delivering the message all wrong but I highly disagree with that.
Pause can definitely be homophobic
anything can be homophobic but most cases pause doesnt have to be tied to homophobia
most the time that s*** jus funny. how non sexual things are taken as sexual, thats what the joke is
Isn't it a constant debate on this forum about how we feel about real killers in hip hop?
Everyone hated Tay k and melly, but love King von?
Yall having moral lines with murder as well in hip hop lol
This forum is mostly young sensitive kids. Anyone who grew up around hip hop culture know how the game is.
Some people clarify that they gay all the time. Ever heard of Kristen Stewart? She's a walking gay flag now.
So I don't see the big deal in saying pause.
It's a lot of closeted rappers because it's usually the gay people that try so hard to act overly masculine. Saying pause is corny because now we all know you're not straight
There’s mad gay rappers.
none of yall wanna listen to em though
Shoutout to Le1f, he performed at my college once. Definitely one if the best rap live performances i ever seen.
didnt say i was gonna contribute to him blowing up. just thought id be funny to watch
Someone post a song with a rapper describing wildly raunchy and graphic man on man s***please

Yeah I say pause when it’s anything sexual when taken out of context. Not sure what the big deal is but I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions
"hip hop needs homophobia" is such a strange hill to die on
No one dying on this hill. Hip hop just doesn’t need to be policed. ESP by kids that started listening to rap 5 years ago.

I mean the original intent behind it, why would I be afraid if something I say can even be seen as homosexual if I’m comfortable in mines?
I do use it ironically tho when I’m with my friends, but it is hella weird when I hear it in a nigga raps.
And when niggas be like “i love you bro, pause/no homo” or s*** like that i think is what annoys me the most. Like, why i gotta pause showing platonic love for my nigga?
As a black man it shouldnt have taken me 24 years before being comfortable telling my niggas “i love you” before i leave a conversation because it “sounds weird”
Lil Nas X is not a gay rapper.
A gay artist, yes. But iLoveMakonnen got blackballed for coming out.
He was blackballed cause he was trash don't play

Just say you're cool with homophobia and keep it pushing I'm too hungover to get in this dumb ass argument
Miss the 90s/2000s man. This PG society getting offended by everything has in some ways ruined hip hop. Hip hop used to be about saying absolutely anything. Hell, Miami rappers during the early boom of the south were making some absurd tracks that New York rappers would look down on cause they were so raunchy.
Your favorite rappers of the 90s killed, robbed, raped, and more in their songs lol Eminem did all of that in every song lol Rap was as visual as it was auditory. Rappers told stories, songs were like movies. if you WEREN'T offending somebody, you were doing it wrong. Now, the most controversial rapper is.......Kanye West? Rap is missing that edge ngl. Cotton candy soft.

i mean ya thats weird cause why would u take a i love you even that way but as u acknowledged yourself theres situations in which u use it and theres no homophobic intent behind it

(Trans woman) but i refer you to a le1f or Cakes Da Killa song.
Lot of graphic queer songs out here
Things are still weird. Like Lil nas X came out and all his videos still had female interests lol
I don't care if a rapper is gay or acts gay for promo (like Uzi, Carti,...) but I think it's easier for lesbians like Young MA, cause the content ends up being the same we used to.

You can "know how the game is" and not think it's okay lmao. If you're cool with homophobia and misogyny then yes obviously it's going to be cool with you kid it doesn't have to be okay with other people because you think that's what hip hop was founded on
