    There was also S*** lil Uzi and soundcloud era rappers like them that just moved in a very Lame way...

    The de-blackening of hip hop is a good way to put it. Like I said, what new slang words we even got from hip hop? I would even argue that a lot of young people idea of “cool” is lame. I feel like the internet has made it corny to compliment and big somebody up because it’s looked at as “glazing” but slandering somebody dead relative in a Twitter argument get you all the retweets. Too much cornball Jamal behavior being promoted

    All culture is being mixed & fast forwarded at hyper speed compared to before. (Mostly from like u said - TikTok & AI). There’s no way to isolate a certain music genre from that

    I mean rn “Aura” is like the most important thing to these kids
    If anything being cool is too important

    i mean yes and no. Certain s*** feel juvenile as you get older (mainly though society's input and pressure) but i still think people still acknowledge oh this is cool. You think old heads was like yea I grew up with James Brown but I can't find MJ Cool?

    Old heads that grew up on James brown weren’t creaming their pants over MJ or stanning him. They enjoyed his music and left it at that

    Same way someone that’s 25-30 might fw a rapper but they aren’t looking up to them

    Tbf related to this thread, I kinda hate how RDC has ended up dedicating waaaay more time into their Twitch streaming nowadays than their skits because that's what Gen Z enjoys
    Gen Z really got weak entertainment taste but I can't even blame them fully tbf, it's all part of the cloud capitalism world we have been living in for a while

    So I said this in a few of my videos recently but black culture has historically been seen as cool by black people and non black people. If you listen to any older white person talk about wu tang, they thought they were so cool. These young rappers are not cool niggas.

    I don’t wanna sound like an old man cause there’s for sure some cool young niggas but man a lot of young people in general are lame. Their culture is TikTok. I can’t blame them. Everything is so homogenized with social media, that when somebody does something different it’s crazy now. Regional sounds are dying out. All the slang young kids use is just s*** from TikTok.

    Just a long rant to say this is bigger than hip hop and a society problem. Even young people in sports be lame (shoutout Cade Cunningham. Seem like a cool nigga) but yeah I think that’s a problem a lot of people are having with new hip hop these days

    it's from AAVE that's been used for decades

    the stuff that people say from modern rap songs is just dumb memes like "6 7" and "fine shyt"
