The next time a true rap superstar comes along, we'll all know it. We won't have to ask or wonder if he's next. These guys had some talent(especially X), but they were more mid tier than superstar. Playboi Carti was the ceiling for X and Juice imo

Juice was bigger than Carti pre death

No the problem with them is they are all somewhat in the Future tree and Pop is in the Chief Keef tree.

Future and Keef don’t get enough credit. Especially Fewtch. The reason is cuz they don’t got “bars” . They not traditional rap. Future ran 2016 but people sit here online saying TPAB did. S*** is comical.

All these new artist are more influenced by Future and take his approach to music. Therefore there is a LARGE fraction of hip hop consumers that just hate and don’t give these new niggas credit for running s***. So that’s why s*** is “stagnant” and no I don’t think those kids would be getting some universal credit as being the new big 3

What I just read was, pretty much, FUTURE ruined hip hop.

The entire conversation was how there’s no new, big 3. So… if he influenced all these guys & we don’t have a top 3 anymore???

    Just putting 2 & 2 together.

Sorry.. I’m done. I’m trolling, but kinda speaking the truth

    BLACK POP STAR

    Uzi
    X
    Juice

These 3 were gonna be the leaders musically, aesthetically, and culturally for they’re generation just like Drake Kendrick and Cole.

X and Juice dying really f***ed up the game.

And I feel like they’re lack of energy negatively affected Uzi’s artistry cuz he hasn’t touched LIR2 since.

Lil Peep dying plays a part too, say what you want but that emo/rage SoundCloud era was different unique and spoke to a generation just like the blog era spoke to mine

Current era we in has no direction, no narrative. Everyone just putting out projects and songs just cuz

Carti lowkey the only one keeping things interesting.

Culture would’ve been in such a fascinating space with X Uzi Juice Peep and Carti leading the way.

Came in thinking I was about to read some cap but op actually spitting big facts damn

It’s only outlandish to old niggas and “born in the wrong generation” nerds.

You ask the average teen or young adult if they would rather listen to Juice WRLD or De la soul or some s*** they are gonna choose Juice

Lmao you are kind of speaking truth tho. We don’t acknowledge there is still a crazy divide in the consumption of hip hop. And those kids were not bridging the gap.

The first little nigga to have the bops AND legit bars will overtake s*** for real. I don’t think those names were really doin that.

    Hard to Swallow pill:

The big 3 era stagnated hip hop.

Made the dumbass audience think you can’t like more than 3 people. This site’s stan wars are proof of that.

This is definitely an overreaction lmao

He don’t embrace the bars tho. 95% of the time he gonna be baby pluto lmao

I’ve been actually waiting for him to really take pride in it for a whole project for a while and think he can definitely do it.

Seeing the albums dropping tonight and saying it’s stagnant is wild

Bringing up the albums dropping tonight doesnt help that side of the argument at all.

DJ Khaled, JID, Roc or Meechy proves it’s not stagnant?

well of course, they haven’t heard of delasoul, especially since they aren’t on streaming.

assuming you’ve heard both it’s kinda absurd to even put them on the same wavelength. they make two totally different kinds of rap, with different influences. old heads gonna oldhead and compare between generations arbitrarily like any other field. it happens anywhere from sports to art.
