I think xbox is becoming the the second option or third one for all gamers, even if they were strictly PS or Nintendo or pc players, gamepass has given people an incentive to buy xbox consoles. I hear more about people now that own a ps5 and xbox for example or a different combo.

backwards compatibility will mean less when developers start making games that really make use of next generation hardware but game pass is great

xbox has long term plans for this and its great but i don’t see it competing with a prime naughty dog still on their payroll

them materializing anything in this generation is throwing budget money at their studios and allowing creative expression

Microsoft is a publisher for games and as of recent they have a fresh ecosystem to play these games on - the last thing they need is to stifle their own success so far by limiting the content coming soon

it's a new thing for Xbox and gaming in general to throw money and let the developers do the job because usually the publisher forces a dev time and it ruins the product - that and so many developers were known for cutting corners as well so the products weren't worth anyone investing in prior to having a working title or concept art

we'll see how the strategy of massive investment into dev studios plays out by the time TES6 drops

Yeah, Halo is great and all but i other than Bethesda, Xbox has no incredible first party devs
