    Yeah. I think lots of people who sell courses are predatory. A lot of people who sell “How to make six figures” courses have never made six figures and they’re only making six figures because they found enough people to buy the course. Although I guess in that case, marketing is a skill

    I would never do something like that. And I haven’t sold any courses or anything like that. I could maybe do that down the line, but for now I’m just giving advice in exchange for maybe building a small audience

    Send it to an agent. Or to someone who can send it to an agent. Or shoot a teaser trailer for it. I did that with this one project and had some success:

    My route (which has paid off slowly) is to create intellectual property based off of the screenplay you love, because nobodies gonna actually adapt your screenplay as it is. Spec scripts at their best only serve to get representation. And thats not even a route you wanna go down

    Film is an investment, and investors wanna see some sort of preexisting fanbase behind a property to convince themselves the investment isnt as risky

    So what i did was take the best thing i wrote and turn it into a comic. Got accepted by only one publisher out of all the ones i applied to. Typical author story.
    And the publisher im with sends their IP to stufios to guage interest.

    I had a false flag option deal that went through last year.

    So yeah at the end of the day if you wanna break into film you need to create IP. F*** scripts only, youre just wasting your time

    The script I wanna write would be its own IP. It doesn’t quite fit a comic structure but your point still stands in finding another form of media to push it into something tangible. 🙏 thank you for this post

    He’s a poster on here who apparently has written for every Marvel show, multiple Marvel movies as well as DC and some other stuff

    Yet hasn’t posted any single shred of proof in fear of “losing his job” and just posts vague comments like “oh you guys will like what’s coming next!” And “I wrote a scene in here and even threw a nod to KTT see if you guys spot it”

    Love people like OP. I can tell you’re someone whose made it because you’re very calm and measured when people talk s***.

    Making it isn’t just about talent and network. It’s about your demeanor. Staying cool when people get outta pocket.

    I wrote some screenplays in college and it was such a rewarding experience. Even got a producer from Blue Mountain State to read it, even tho it was probably trash

    OP this is just a random bullshit idea you probably hear a million times a day but f*** it.

    You know all those conspiracy theories about artists sacrificing their loved ones/friends to make it into the industry? That could make for a fire ass script. Actor/artist on the come up starts doing super f***ed up stuff to get on. There could be something compelling there.

    I like substance and don't need to shorten my attention span further. Yall can keep that just like snapchat 5 or so years ago.

    Tiktok isn't all about 6 sec videos anymore. There is alot of interesting things there depending to your liking. For example like OP trying to give writing tips.

    I definitely cannot get you staffed on a show or get your pilot sold. But I can help you become a better writer and help you know the best use of your time and resources

    But it’s such an obvious caption that he could have totally forgotten that I told him and arrived at it on his own

    Thank you! Maybe it wasn’t trash. Honestly @ARCADE_GOON is write about a lot. I remember reading scripts for shows that got picked up and expecting to be blown away, and the scripts were… fine. Nothing special. It’s almost like a seed stage startup where you’re investing in the people and the team and the founder moreso than the idea

    Those scripts were written by people who had build audiences for successful things already, without studio backing

    Drake’s 24 was so good. The show made me realize that as much as I hate to say it because I’m a drake fan and acquaintance, Kanye’s music is like… idk more culturally significant
