i don’t know what to do @op except tell you, that it’s cool that you love your mom so much. but i’ll also say that 9x out of 10 the caretaker dies before the person they’re taking care of. it might be time to seriously consider setting up some boundaries for yourself because your mom doesn’t seem like she’s in the right mindset to be making critical decisions.

This can’t be a real stat can it
This can’t be a real stat can it
Lmao
So my mom viewed house 1 and told me it was not clean and wants to sign the lease of house 2.
They will clean the house???????
They will clean the house???????
The townhouse is very dirty apparently. I went in it while it was being painted and it did look ok. My mom is saying it looked worse than when I viewed it so idk

I agree. It’s just we have the get out of the place we’re in currently (has roaches, hot water runs out, A/C barely work) before we get an eviction. We haven’t paid the rent since my mom is breaking the lease.
So time is not on our side.
Our only options are home 1 & home 2. It’s just home 1 is dirty and affordable while home 2 is expensive and has brand new everything
Whichever one you can afford. If you can afford home 2 then obviously go with that. No reason not to.

My mom is working two jobs and is trying to go for three. Everything on paper sounds great for home 2 but I don’t have a job lined up at my college.
Committed to asking for advice?
Either committed to making these outlandish situations up or committed to doing the most financially irresponsible s*** you can.

If only my mom saw it that way.
On a side note she will be working two jobs and is aiming for three… so hopefully the rent won’t be split 50/50. Half if $2500 is $1250 and I know I can’t pay that a month

Exactly. So if this is an actual situation, you shouldn’t even be considering it. Unless you’re trying to ruin your life.
That’s what I’m telling my mom she wants the other property since it’s brand new
google VOCs and try to educate her about them if its something that could shift the needle
Sources: VOCs in New Construction
The major concern in new properties is chemical emissions from new building materials. These chemicals are known as volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Offgassing is the term used to describe the emission of chemicals from these materials. Some examples of building materials that can off-gas when new are carpeting, flooring, cabinets, and paint. It’s not just building materials that give off VOCs. New furniture, cleaning products, and personal care products are also common sources for VOCs.
this is especially relevant w a 5 year old brother imo
but also the money

My mom started a second job and is going for a third to help me with my half of the $1250. She has also signed her part of the lease so it’s too late. All I can do now is pray that everything works out..because if not..

My mom already signed her part of the lease so it’s too late.
As of now, my grandma is going to help us pay the deposit which is ($3500). The first months rent is $2500, and my mom just started her second job.
Also, the rent is prorated so after we pay the $2500, we will have a little bit of time to somehow get next months rent. I attached a screenshot of the email from earlier today
but also the money
I appreciate you posting this but my mom isn’t focused on VOCs. She already signed her part of the lease anyway
My grandmother has offered to help us pay the deposit from house 2 but I cannot afford to pay $1350 rent
So don't rent a townhouse with 1350 rent

It’s too late the lease has been signed. I’m just going to leave it to Jesus, hopefully everything works out. I’ve been going back and forth with my mom and I’m tired now it is what it is
