That's the thing about adaptations: they're at the mercy of whoever is adapting them and how THEY interpret the story. It is what it is at this point
those inside the episodes are revealing a lot lmao
the showrunners hating daemon is so funny and feeling they needed to humble him is a choice...
Team Green's claim to the throne is based on a misunderstanding
that whole thing was super unnecessary considering Otto and the council were already plotting to challenge Rhaenyra's claim the second Viserys died anyway
Allicent: "Everyone Viserys said he wants Aegon to be king with his dying breaths!!!!
"
Otto: We were gonna do that anyway but alright

Crine we needed some drama I guess

I haven't seen those lol. I think it starts to be clear in that Oscar Tully scene from last episode
I had no idea this had been greenlit let alone been put into production till now

Idk I’ve enjoyed this season but it’s been so long since I’ve seen GOT and I’ve only ever seen it once I haven’t been able to compare the two while watching. I’ve also never watched this or GOT with someone I’m rooting for. I just enjoy seeing how all the scheming plays out
I’ll have to rewatch at some point but it’s a long series. Maybe I’ll just do szn 1-4 and take a break

you felt there was gray area in the original series though? seemed like lannisters were always bad, starks and dany (for the most part) always good
Tyrion and Jaime exist??
Also the showrunners butchered that show obviously in part because they didn't want tyrion to be Grey and they wanted John to be an action hero
Tyrion and Jaime exist??
yea but that never swung the audience to say "im rooting for the lannisters"
agreed, there should be more deep character dev to make us feel sympathetic to some of those on the greens side, but as a whole with the outlook of "teams" no one was ever repping team lannister, and so i dont find it as such a big deal that the writers havent given the viewers any reason to support the greens.
how has it not been boring in some cases? there's been a lack of character development for other characters who we are supposed to care for in the upcoming war. and even out of the big three rhaenyra and daemon have had subpar arcs this season compared to alicent.
just because people are talking in rooms doesn't mean it's back to classic got. there's been no consequences to these conversations. and even more baffling is they don't even have them react to major events that are happening.
market this as teamgreen vs teamblack but the average viewer has no reason to be sympathetic to the green cause if they're not book reader. how is that classic got when we don't have any grey area where we can root for either side?
Alrdy said I can see how some people saw certain elements as boring but to say the whole season is boring is asinine
I don’t rly care for the marketing tho that’s just HBO going wild tryna get viewers lol it was deceptive af but

I don't think the greens need to be sympathetic because they are literally usurpers lol they are in the wrong no question and the show has done the most to try and make alicent sympathetic anyways while casting away one of the only potential sympathetic greens in Helena. So I agree

How do you feel about Rhaenyra tryna put a b****** on the throne tho
that’s the angle I find interestingly grey/wrong for team black

Rhaenyra is the queen and can name literally anyone heir and legitimize b******s lmao

I get that but she isn’t rly willing to acknowledge him as a b****** lol

According to her he's not a b******

She actually acknowledged he is in the last ep. In her convo with Mysaria.

Oh yeah but I might like publicly
If anything Jace's biggest worry's gotta be his little brothers/Daemon's kids cause they're full on blonde incest Targs
I get that but she isn’t rly willing to acknowledge him as a b****** lol
And that is logical
And that is logical
But is it ‘right’
seems a lil selfish and misguided when she knows his legitimacy could be questioned and that would cause realm instability
Or do you just not see it as an issue at all 👀
