You're making assumptions and grouping everyone who doesn't agree with you with blanket statements
Of course this will be unproductive

Still not sure what you’re trying to do here and I would appreciate it if you stopped quoting me with the yaps sir

I’m sorry my s***post responses to s***posts weren’t up to your standard 🙏

    have u read the book?

i feel like book readers are more harsh on the show

which is always weird cause the book is already super vague and non-descript. the whole dance is like.. 200 pages.

My fav thing is when GRRM says snide things about the show and its writing like he didn’t have the chance to exert control narratively over this s*** lmao

he's also worked in television before and has said he understands adaptations can never be 1:1 so that post was strange. i mean he's allowed to have criticisms of course but if you sell the rights to your story you just have to accept what they deliver

People are allowed to find it boring especially if the politicking in early GOT was backed by strong character work
The characters in HOTD are fine but they don't hold a candle to the electric ensemble in the main show, not to mention this season's plotting has been lackluster imo. I hate making comparisons especially when the shows have a different feel but let's not act like these complaints are unwarranted Lol

i find myself letting stuff slide in hotd that we would've never let slide in got. the plotlines have so much holes in them and that's not even nitpicking. it's not tight and cohesive as i'd expected given the source material is pretty straightforward.

Yeah ngl you’re the part of the problem that made GoT lose its quality if you thought this season was boring lmao

how has it not been boring in some cases? there's been a lack of character development for other characters who we are supposed to care for in the upcoming war. and even out of the big three rhaenyra and daemon have had subpar arcs this season compared to alicent.

just because people are talking in rooms doesn't mean it's back to classic got. there's been no consequences to these conversations. and even more baffling is they don't even have them react to major events that are happening.

market this as teamgreen vs teamblack but the average viewer has no reason to be sympathetic to the green cause if they're not book reader. how is that classic got when we don't have any grey area where we can root for either side?

  • Aug 2, 2024

nothing worse than a condescending d***head who thinks people critiquing the show don't love the ASOIAF universe and are casuals. we want this show to be successful.

this is the funny part to me lol like people really think if there's no action and just talking its classic GoT

  • Aug 2, 2024

No, classic GoT is Ned coming to discover the incest by putting clues together, its Tywin subtly setting up the red wedding, the tyrell-littlefinger stuff etc., where schemes actually come to fruition and things have payoff

  • Aug 2, 2024

And again, it is completely fine for the war in this show to not have truly started yet. It is not fine for them to waste a whole season on basically setting up that war when they've had multiple episodes of the same s*** and tons of unnecessary and bullshit scenes.

It would be like if GoT season 3 ended with Robb going to the twins, and not the red wedding, or if season 2 ended with Stannis mobilizing for war instead of the blackwater battle lmao we'd all rightfully call it ass

they can't even get that right tho otherwise they would have had Nettles and let Jeyne Arryn actually be the character she is smh

exactly, the criticism has nothing to do with the theme itself, it is one of many themes that makes the book interesting.

just seems the showrunners have their own idea of what that looks like rather than using what grrm has laid out for them.

and in doing so it is so badly written, there's no deft touch. so heavy handed

Yeah its completely off the mark

No one who actually cares about the asoiaf universe needs morally "good" characters because the understanding is that none of these characters are good people since George tries to be morally grey. We don't need Rhaenyra to be a pacifist or some s***

    i'm saying!

if you want this to be a set up szn (even though it shouldn't be as you say) then let us know who all the main players will be and their motivations. then you leave it for the viewers to decide who they want to root for. don't need to sugarcoat anything. I feel like they haven't toed that line successfully this season.

I don't think this is an unfair criticism of the show tbf and when people are saying we don't like classic got it irritates me. because we did get that with thrones. we might not agree but we understand.
