Growing slightly weary of this stuffy, high-sounding English talky talk s***
I miss The Knick and it's brash but effective tone
Another thing. So Rhaenyra basically sent the Knight to his death because she knew Leanor was still alive. Unless she doesn't know about the whole they don't take new riders if they're still alive.

I think Laenor is dead in a ditch somewhere cause Seasmoke's behavior has changed
Episode 6 was ayt. Not gonna fall in the comparison trap but this show doesn't have the sauce...yet.

Yea but I'm saying Nyra knew a Dragon wouldn't bound with another person if the og Dragon rider was alive, so she sent dude to die.

She knew he was barely a side character no one would miss

They are just glossing over that fact because its convenient so we just have to assume he is dead or whatever

did they establish this dynamic/rule in the show ?

Lmfao its 100% implied which is why dragons only have one rider
If there is established lore about something and a large part of your audience is aware of that lore then to not mention it is indeed "glossing over it"

personally i'm not too bothered by this. laenor is gone to another continent. his dragon is supposed to know whether he's alive or dead via a spiritual connection. but if u just go to the other end of the world and never see your dragon again, i'm fine with this rule being more of a mythical thing than a true hardened-fast rule as if there's no distance u can travel where your dragon wont still know youre alive.

I mean that's exactly how dragons work lol it's a spiritual connection it's not an in universe myth or something and there's a reason everyone waits until a rider is dead until they try to claim the dragon they had.
And regardless, it is clear they just wanted to gloss over it because there is a reason it isn't mentioned. And it's even funnier because they knew this scene would come at some point and all they had to do either kill Laenor like he died in the book, or at least even have Jace or Rhaenyra (both who are literally very educated and smart characters) mention it and have a brief convo about how maybe the bond has been broken because Laenor "abandoned" seasmoke
Again, mentioning nothing is simply glossing over it. And I know they've mentioned seasmoke being "lonely" like, twice lmao, but that isn't sufficient.

fair
Hold up. This whole time I thought Rhaenyra really killed her husband, I gotta rewatch his “death”.
Changes my whole view of things.

Bruh it shows him leave on a boat in the very last shot of that episode lol

IDK what I was watching
no clue why people are upset at the kiss. who cares.
i liked how mysaria is becoming a trusted master of whisperers for rhynaera. she provided good value in this episode and i like her in general.
the kiss was fine. to me it just showed that they are bonding on a personal level and she's gonna keep being a trusted asset.

If you think about it that’s a D&D “we forgot about it” kinda mistake bc it is heavily implied that dragons don’t accept new riders until their current one dies.
