The way I've seen this series presented is the one George specifically picked, so it makes sense that the 8 or so they planned have largely evaporated

there's just no possible way for them to do a foundation for a series without George. I do think they have enough capable show runners that they could do a solid season 4 or 5, but these people just don't have the intellect (and very few would, realistically) to do the beginning justice

I want to not think about the Targ-incest element, but it will probably loom very blatantly large very soon
