this show is so problematic 😖 but I can’t stop watching ALSHDKSKHS i- 😛
I was quoting Nate lol
I’m convinced that Cal has sexually abused Nate tbh, that’s why he’s so f***ed up
They haven’t really confirmed it but it’s been sort of hinted at
Ngl that was probably the worst episode of this entire show
it def felt like an extras episode
this play got black swan budget
yea i was like what kinda fancy ass school play is this. multiple sets
I feel ya.
I always felt it was unfair when euphoria was criticized for not being a realistic teenage experience. It was never trying to be.
But still, the investment, and the buy in, we give to any piece of media, is on a spectrum. You can’t just say, oh, this show isn’t aiming for realism, and have every line be whatever is cool. The show actually has dialogue that often feels real. Within a heightened world.
But there’s a line, there’s levels to it.
So my line is the play.
I don’t like it as a narrative device.
I don’t like it mythologizing the characters.
I don’t like what it means for this world.
And I still don’t know exactly why I come down so hard on this, or what exactly I expected, but that’s how it shakes up.
I still think Euphoria would've made 10x more sense if the characters were in college.
Facts
This season just felt like Cassie and maddy playing seesaw over Nate
Season 1 explored way more dark themes and nothing has yet to top that insane carnival episode
Episode 4 and 5 of S2 have blown season 1 out of here bro come on lol
Niggas hating. Episode was fire. As a thespian this s*** was activating all my synapses fr. This episode also reaffirmed my love Maude. She's gorgeous and she killed it this episode

I mean yes. Like the whole play I was like where tf is a teacher/drama instructor even at. Aint no way they just giving some student complete and free creative control with no interference. Plus what is the budget for the drama program
Matter of fact. I feel like I aint see not one teacher, textbook or bookbag at all this season
This episode was cool but I also kinda hated it at the same time. My feeling for this show are so weird.
I love this season and agree it’s way better than last season. The season writing has been solid but I’ve been feeling the predictability level increase as we approach the finale.
I’m hoping we get some answers next Sunday. Such as Rue paying the d*** lady.
There’s some weird understanding that predictability = bad and subverting expectations = good and that’s how we got s*** like Game of Thrones later seasons. Something being predictable does not make it bad or inherently inferior to a plot twist or your expectations being subverted. What matters is whether it makes narrative sense for the plot and the characters and whether it’s executed well.

Just the whole show in general. A lot of the scenarios are more reflective of what happens in college rather than high school IMO. High school has some good times but I'd say most people don't have high school experiences that mirror Euphoria. In college, tons of people can have experiences that are similar to Euphoria.
If you're in a frat, d****, sex, getting in trouble with cops is normal.

I think they using high school. Cause it's 10x more shocking if it's high schoolers instead of college
