I watched a behind the scenes of this episode and the director says that Rue is indeed unreliable af and the lip tattoos never happenedIt was just her imagination
Damn,
now I’m wondering what else she imagined vs what actually happened. Hopefully they expose more of her lies in Jules’ episode

She def is unreliable,she even says so herself in ep 1 or 2 i think.

Me in 20 years giving me that sigh of relief during that conversation. What a great song choice
the juxtaposition between Rue looking forward thinking of what the next 20 years could hold and Ali looking backwards thinking of the last 20 years. Such a beautiful, emotional scene

Why was the writing criticised so much?
Its not some BCS or BB type of slow burn masterful writing,and sure it has a few silly moments but i actually think its rly solid
