Late game Elden ring arras’s and much of DS2 can be described as exactly this

Summons took the fun out of the game but seeing how I never used magic in any Dark Souls game before Elden Ring was my first and it was surprisingly good and it got even better after an update. OP even

Cheap one shots, More enemies, Spongey enemies, player doing less damage. Stuff like that

You’re making excuses so you can split hairs on what is and isn’t a challenge lol. A standard industry practice doesn’t become bad difficulty just because FromSoftware designs their games to be inherently difficult. The core formula is literally ‘keep losing until you don’t anymore’

But really Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal on Nightmare, Resident Evil 2 on Hardcore, FF7 Remake on Hard. That’s all that comes to mind. Most games with multiple difficulties totally f*** up the balance.

Thats literally ur fault not the game no duh the game was harder you ignored a pretty important main mechanic the game is built around (spirit summons) and a powerful optional one (magic) that is fleshed out n more powerful than ever

Legendary halo 2 is literally impossible for the most part and Jackals are THE boss of the whole game no matter what difficulty
Gow 5 optional area bosses are the most frusturating thing ever
More than Souls, Monster Hunter & whatever the hell

Dont talk about cheap hits and literal sponges until you do the optional bosses & endgame content of Gow 5, even worst because its not flexible like a true rpg so you literally have to power through it instead of alternate legit methods, leveling or better char builds/equipment
