I started this over last week after not playing since the week it came out. About 20 hours in, about to embark on the third trial… I’m having fun with it but, and I’m sure I’m not the first person to mention this, it’s actually hilarious how hypocritical and paradoxical the narrative/player character are.
The poacher story and everything going on with Sebastian in particular.
The game is what it is at this point, and was an obvious success so I doubt much will be changed in the sequel but… yeah.
Just started playing this, I haven't even done my first classes yet. But holy s***, this seems like a dream game for me
Always been a major fan, read the books twice and I had a character I could import from my Pottermore account
Intro to the game was lit, the fact that your character couldn't see the thestrals at first and then they became visible after he watched that guy get killed by the dragon
Hogwarts is massive, seems like there'll be a lot of spells to unlock and gameplay feels satisfying. I seriously could not stop tapping R2 and firing spells as I was walking around Hogwarts, it never gets old
My main complaint so far is I already do not f*** my character's friends. I chose Ravenclaw and I just hated the dialogue and voice actors for all 3 of them
Hate the voice for my own character tbh, they should've given more options. Lip syncing is also noticeably off to the point where it's distracting. And I am not interested in this Goblin plot, could see myself being disappointed by the main story
It's not perfect but I am LOVING this game
Not easy source material to adapt but they really nailed it
Finished the main story after about 60 hours (I think, just beat the antagonist and woke up in Spring). There was a point where I was enthralled with this game, but I started to notice flaws and slowly dislike it the more I played
10/10 as a Harry Potter experience, 6.5-7/10 as a video game. Just some baffling design choices, this game kinda feels AI/procedurally generated. It doesn't feel like human developers actually sat down and thought some things in this game through. Progression in the game doesn't make sense, game is way too easy even on its hardest difficulty and I wish they would've focused more on the main plot/side quests rather than the 100s of brainless, repetitive collectables and puzzles. This game is the poster child of what people mean when they talk about what's wrong with AAA open world games
You can clearly tell the developers love Harry Potter and this is a solid foundation for a sequel, but there's definitely room for improvement. Game does feel good to play so I might slowly chip away at the Platinum whenever I get stuck in/bored of whatever else I'm playing. Was considering doing an entire second playthrough with a Slytherin but this playthrough exhausted me
Maybe in a couple of years
