Phew, I don’t know man.
I think a lot of prominent streamers are gonna avoid streaming this unless they’re sponsored.
Outrage and cancel culture is ironically itself oppressive
How is it okay to expect other people to abide by your own views and they deserve some form of punishment just because they don't?
Feel free to educate people on the issue, but if they still want to enjoy the art even though they know the issues people have with it, they should be able to
What quantifies as punishment?
Because someone you’ve never met, and likely never will, telling you to f*** off on a message board is not really punishment, especially compared to marginalized groups who are being actively pursued and attacked by those in positions of power and influence in the real world.

This could be a turning point in cancel culture

The one time I'm happy I'm not famous so I can play a video game and not lose my yearly income.

"Don't support/watch this streamer because he's playing an anti-trans game"
"You're a bad person if you still listen to Kanye"
Obviously it's not the same. But making people feel bad for enjoying something created by a person whose views you don't agree with is not the solution imo

I mean, it’s not.
Cancel culture 99.9% of the time can just be ignored, it’s HIGHLY unlikely to have an actual material effect on you.
Right now their stream has a little bit more views than their normal stream.

I doubt most streamers fanbases would care man, it’s just a few outspoken individuals who are boycotting this and that’s their right

I think I'm just tired of seeing culture warfare everywhere I look online.
I ignore a lot of the cancel culture s*** it's just so prevalent now.

Then move on.
Typically those types of perspectives are taken by people who have little to no power and ability to make actual tangible change within society because they have no influence (i.e. wealth).
And I don’t mean that in a derogatory manner, it’s just the truth. We’re divided by culture wars and rendered powerless by those with influence (i.e. wealth).
Especially coming from marginalized groups, it’s sometimes the only way to express frustration and get something of a response, otherwise you’re shouting in a void.
