BlueDreamTbh DC should probably keep leaning in to HBO TV shows. Penguin was great and Lanterns will likely be as well
Also Marvel just announced they are dialing back on TV shows, so this is a good opportunity for DC to fill that void for comic book shows
DC just always works so well with mature storytelling
Yeah that would be great. Maybe look into a Nightwing show when he leaves Gotham or something

I always forget how many youtube grifters get mad any time a white man is anyway humbled or not the center of attention even when they have so much good representation. Especially because I dont limit it to black or white. Black and white heroes and characters are so present and have so much more writing in major pieces of media than latino, asian or indian or so many other groups. Which on the cb side is harsher because so often they have to hear "well it was this way in the comic book" with some of their fans cherishing comic books written in times of deep racism where some people had never even talked to people of different races.

There is a contingent of fans who are genuinely upset about Hal Jordan Getting seemingly killed off in the first episode. But these are legitimate Hal Jordan fans who are getting annoyed with the way Hal has been getting treated by DC.
Rightfully so, because a lot of writers have put Hal into some extremely questionable situations, and DC would try to retcon a lot of it as "It was Parallax!" But I guess it's just not really sticking as well these days. And DC probably finds it easier to just create new Lanterns or focus on other ones.
There are so many Earth Green Lanterns that they can easily do it too. Alan Scott, Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Simon Baz, Jessica Cruz, Jo Mullein. It also helps that they're very diverse and can appeal to fans of different backgrounds much more than generic white guy Hal Jordan.
Still, it is pretty unfair that Hal Jordan does tend to keep getting screwed over in a lot of modern Green Lantern media.

It's been getting so bad man lmao just so many s***ty bad faith takes/arguments from larpers and chuds who barely even keep up with the lore of the things they're getting mad about.
If you want some honesty and fun discussion regarding superhero media I highly recommend For All Nerds, Blerd Without Fear, and The Midnight Boys.

It was good, but a lot of the hype around it was that there was really no other superhero TV show that got as heavy/mature and violent as it did for its time.
Many of the superhero TV shows from 2000-2014ish were premiering on basic cable television. Your ABC, Fox, CW/WB, NBC, etc. A small handful on Spike TV or SyFy. You'd get Arrow, Gotham, Constantine which would push a line a bit, but they were still subject to FCC guidelines and how graphic they were allowed to be as they were on The CW, Fox, and NBC.
Daredevil on Netflix in 2015 changed a lot of that. You can say that it was partly responsible for superhero television media getting darker, more violent, and getting more mature subject matter.
If you go back and watch it now for the first time, it's definitely enjoyable, but you've probably seen wilder stuff from the superhero shows that came afterwards.

I mean I get feeling short changed on Hal Jordan . Hope they get at least one flashback episode of seeing a bit more of Hal or a dedicated episode but based on the podcast I doubt it. I get their frustration to some degree . While at the same time this is fhe first live action John Stewart at all.
Could have killed Guy Gardner instead of Hal and nothing of value would be lost
