You really gotta watch this s*** when it comes out or avoid any social media till you do
I swear some people are skipping to the end of the episode to post spoilers
Would you get with the grandma
Na lmao
I do need to calm down though. Obsessed with that pilot (Aaron Pierre) and I need to rewatch tonight
I think I'm going to rewatch this tonight. I want to dig into this more after hearing the podcast
I'm guessing this is Japanese for "Cinema"
Tbh DC should probably keep leaning in to HBO TV shows. Penguin was great and Lanterns will likely be as well
Also Marvel just announced they are dialing back on TV shows, so this is a good opportunity for DC to fill that void for comic book shows
DC just always works so well with mature storytelling

I wish marvel was Rated R. I just wanna hear Dr strange say f*** one time lord, one time
Good opener. It sets a tone and let's the viewer know that this will be the wavelength for the rest of the show so either you're on board or you ain't

Just depends on if HBO wants it tho, the news about the other DCU shows is worrying but maybe HBO just wanted to see how this does first
solid first ep
i enjoy how mysterious lantern corps are still to the general populace and the repercussions of navigating the earth law and order.
All these people making parallax rumors gonna be so mad if it doesn’t happen.
Gonna be our version of Mephisto

I mean if you can keep getting good showrunners and writers . Chris Mundy , Damon Lindelof and Lauren Lefranc aced it. Never just make a show to make a show. Make a show because you can. Make a show because you have people who have worked on great tv. They should operate some moments through great tv like this. I been saying this since DCEU . Because HBO is the perfect place for it.

Was a good podcast episode . I will also rewatch tonight
Watched season 1. I don't get the hype. If I had to rate I'd give it a 7. Like it's good, don't get me wrong. Even great in spots. I think I found foggy really annoying lmao
It was good, but a lot of the hype around it was that there was really no other superhero TV show that got as heavy/mature and violent as it did for its time.
Many of the superhero TV shows from 2000-2014ish were premiering on basic cable television. Your ABC, Fox, CW/WB, NBC, etc. A small handful on Spike TV or SyFy. You'd get Arrow, Gotham, Constantine which would push a line a bit, but they were still subject to FCC guidelines and how graphic they were allowed to be as they were on The CW, Fox, and NBC.
Daredevil on Netflix in 2015 changed a lot of that. You can say that it was partly responsible for superhero television media getting darker, more violent, and getting more mature subject matter.
If you go back and watch it now for the first time, it's definitely enjoyable, but you've probably seen wilder stuff from the superhero shows that came afterwards.
