Tough but Elden Ring for me. It depends what you prefer though.
if God of War Ragnarok so good replay it on the hardest difficulty or any difficulty with what you learned from beating it? Unless you are saying its a one and done. Most who beat it uninstalled it

Yeah that’s the problem with story centric games to me. They focus so much pacing on telling the story that replaying them can be a chore for large parts. I’ve tried replaying TLOU2 multiple times but I get so bored because the intro levels are soooo slow pacing wise. TLOU at least offers a chapter select which is nice.
Ragnarok is hella slow until just after you get the spear but yeah I can already tell I won’t be replaying this. Meanwhile I’ve got like 250+ hours on Elden ring

you see it
Ragnarok stans are the equivalent to PC elitists. Y’all interpret that how you feel like.
With that said, both games are masterpieces to me and even tho I feel like Elden Ring is a more interactive experience, Elden Ring is gonna take it.
Fromsoftware Stans are literally one of the biggest elitist groups in gaming lol

That’s cuz beating a “difficult” game is the biggest accomplishment they’ve gotten out of their lives
Doesn’t change the fact the games are A1 tho
Regarding difficulty; In GoW difficulty is a setting and in Elden Ring difficulty is a result of your build, knowledge (either looked up or discovered yourself), and how willing you are to use the game mechanics to trivialize the challenges.
Therefore in Elden ring you have more agency in creating your own gameplay experience. I beat the hardest boss in the game by summoning a mimic tear and spamming L2 on a special weapon, took all difficulty out of the encounter for that playthrough.
Facts. The first tree sentinel was the hardest boss in the game for me because I beat it before doing anything else. Malenia was one of the easiest bosses in the game because Rivers of Blood shred through her healthbar like butter
hopefully Elden Ring's success will allow them to optimize the performance for Elden Ring 2 more, it can't be considered a niche jprg series anymore

I agree.
Elden ring combat feels like a ps2 game. Your created dude animations are dogshit.
They got some amazing bosses and the open world is really nice.
God of war just wins more categories imo.

This sounds like projection.
But in most cases, you’re probably right

Ps2 games are better than ps4/ps5 games
they got a literal god having to pick up random crystals and move them to a different location 15 feet away and doing rube goldberg machines just to open f***ing doors so they can stretch out a 12 hour story into a 30 hour game
elden ring and it's not even close

No one’s saying it’s a one and done, but to criticize a story driven game for not replaying it immediately after you 100% it (which I did) is absurd
Game of the Year is not “which game did you play the most hours in” because there are plenty of s*** games that people rake up hundreds of hours in. (2K, Madden, COD)
It’s asinine to say that you can get overall more hours out of Elden Ring because thats common sense; one is an open world RPG, the other is a single player action adventure.
The worth of a game is how much enjoyment the player gets from the time spent with it, not how many hours of their life they dedicated to playing it.
I think Elden Ring is a 10/10 but I literally haven’t touched it since April. That doesn’t mean it’s lesser than Ragnarok, I just got what I wanted from it and haven’t had the urge to play it in a while.
That’ll be the case for Ragnarok as well since I just beat it last week.

Yup, like I definitely appreciate the work put in to FromSoftware games.
But their stans can be pretentious as hell

Game of the Year =/= “Game I’ve Played for Most Hours”
People play games like 2K, Madden, COD, and Destiny for hundreds and hundreds of hours and none of those titles are anywhere near GOTY.
It’s asinine to compare the playtime of an open world RPG and a single player action adventure
Ps2 games are better than ps4/ps5 games
Some sure but overall absolutely not
But that’s probably just your nostalgia talking since I know people my age who think PS3/360 games are better than any games now.
The games you played growing up are the games you’re gonna think are better than everything else

I think both games are S-tier but all that’s better in Elden Ring is the exploration and customization. I think Ragnarok beats it in every other category

Super Mario 64 still better than modern games
*Super Mario Sunshine
Slight edge to 64 imo. More fun replay value and fluud controls were a bit stressful sometimes.
