Corporate talk depresses me so
Then again f-zero is dead, although pikmin and Metroid are back
we truly had something great
remove Jim Ryan and replace with creative japanese
It was yoshida who first started to slowly homogenize SIE development and giving less budget to Japan studio so that isnt necessarily the answer either

Yoshida really betrayed us
Then as someone else said The Last of Us was a blessing and a curse
The disrespect to Horizon: Forbidden West is crazy.
Blandest, corporate, most forgettable game of all time

That goes to every Far Cry game post 3

True, but at least they invented those boring tropes and the stories were sometimes engaging
Horizon distilled all the most boring tropes into one game with an annoying protagonist who doesn’t shut the f*** up and a s*** story
Tell me a Sony character as recognizable as Mario, Sonic, link, pacman, master chief, Kirby, donkey Kong, Cloud/Sephiroth, Lara Croft, Bowser, Pikachu. Not only by gamers, by the masses. Closest are Nathan Drake and kratos, but theyre not there yet. Ovviously the mascots ive mentioned arent as known as those te but they never had the marketing, amount of games and budget Uncharted and God of war ever had so they didnt stand a chance. Look what they tried first with Little Big Planet and now with astro. Tryna have their Mario and Sonic but failing hard
The f*** do you mean? God of war just sold 5.1 mil first week. Uncharted had its own movie and it didn’t decent in box office. Joel and Ellie are very well known also. Last of us sold an absurd amount of copies. What a stupid take yet again man.

Love the concept of horizon and think it could be so much more but they really didn’t improve on any of the things wrong with zero dawn. Traversing the empty ass world is so boring and some standard Ubisoft s***. Game lacks charm even though I love the setting and combat is pretty unique.
Spyro too
spyro is activision blizzard and really hasn't been sony anything for minute

It’s still characters
It’s still characters
lol you got to just let it go. You getting washed by people that aren't going to change their minds and you haven't even played Elden Ring like that. Y'all got different taste and thats okay

Yea they definitely wasted a cool setting

People either hate Horizon or really enjoy it
I think it's a solid all around game, Aloy was kinda a d***, but I disagree on the story being bad, it's solid. It just does everything good, there's no real flaws in the gameplay loop.
Sure it's formulaic, but every game has a formula, I don't see that as a knock. Assassins Creed, Far Cry, all created this formula that a lot of games follow, but those are AC and FC games have been dog s*** for years now, while others that use that formula have been fun to play still.
Ubisoft really just lost the sauce, but they're successful as a company regardless

I think it’s just okay. Better than Ubisoft’s s***, and it looks phenomenal graphically. I think guerilla’s engine is really good and they should make more games in it.

I think the formula is the least of my concerns on this game. Mad max, Arkham knight and GoT have a Ubisoft formula and are fun games
The MC is just bland and not likable, character designs are ugly, and the world is empty. You’re right, story is solid but it’s also completely forgettable. The gameplay is okay but not Good enough to sit in such a lifeless world doing checklist side quests
I hate this game for being so aggressively uninspired and bland. It’s like everything I hate about modern game development in one game

Not getting washed at all. Proved them wrong. They haven’t played god of war. You’re just biased bro. This is a god of war vs elden ring thread.

if a game can be spoiled that easily than the best part of it is the story not the gameplay. God of war 2018 i had played some before I read any spoilers. I just don't particularly love it but to each their own the beginning definitely slaps but overall its just not for me and that is okay.

To me Horizon and GoT are pretty much the same kind of game, they're not world beaters or anything, but I enjoyed them, I had fun. The stories weren't award winners, but they were fine enough. A lot of Horizon's story you really get a lot more info listening to all the audio and s***.
Like you learn about these characters from pre robot takeover and it's like damn this is kinda interesting actually.
I think the clothing is kinda mid for some tribes, but I do applaud the design, it definitely is diverse in ethnicities. It's one of the few games out there where black people actually look good and have well done hair, other ethnicities look legit.
The way that you feel about Horizon is how I felt playing Fallout 4, that game was so uninspiring to me, it just felt like a time waster of quest to quest to level up with a s***ty main plot. I'd agree to disagree on everything besides the world being dry.
