I mean if you directly criticize the elements of the gameplay or what we’ve seen outside of looks people understand. They still make excuses but they understand . People understand that the gameplay flow of god of war 2018 Ragnarok and what we’ve seen of this doesn’t work for everyone. Combined with I don’t think any studio be it 343 coalition Sony Santa Monica should only make one ip or type of game for so long . I like studios doing new ip or reviving other franchises learning from it then adding new gameplay mechanics we haven’t seen . The problem is gamers are more consumed with things looking cool or people looking hot or a well written cutscene than mechanics .

Fumito Ueda we know his games struggle with performance some . His characters say very little . Doesn’t rely on cutscenes . But mechanically and scale wise he delivers . Need more games that care more about being games than movie set pieces .

Sony fanboys don’t really have a level of constructive criticism or accepting the games are formulaic won’t work for everyone besides Horizon series. Last of us 2 spider man 2 are well made games in some regards but they won’t click for everyone . The issue is people even their favorite games like gta v , Bioshock and more used to be able to constructively criticize while also enjoying .
