We're you guys aware of God of War Ascension when it first came out? I literally didn't know about it till a little bit after God of War 4.
I feel like it had no marketing and I think it's bullshit it never got a port to PS4 even tho it dropped like late 2013 iirc. I know it was reviewed average back in the day but its been getting better reception in retrospective.
Think imma buy a copy for PS3. It's the only GOW title I haven't played and it's ass with emulation so far. Thank fully it's not as expensive as I thought it might be, it's like $40 for physical and I been wanting to play it forever. I was waiting for a potential port at some point but they seem to be ignoring it again with the upcoming remake of the og trilogy smh.
Yes know about ascension . Don’t thinking it will be in trilogy so good move . I still need to play vice city stories

I missed it fully but I got a ps4 in 2015 with Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Fallout 4 and Metal Gear Solid 5. I was off of gaming for like 2 or 3 years although I was aware of other games around the 2012 - 2014 period, but I'm glad it's getting better retrospective reviews.
Apparently it was reviewed just decently cuz the media had "God of war" fatigue and how they were so desperate for a few years for games to "mature".
Sucks it didn't sell well but it looks amazing, the intro boss I saw might be even better than 3's.
I can see it going up in price too so it would be good for anyone to pick it up rn while it's still reasonable.
God I hate how much is lost and stuck on the PS3.

Ascension was promoted decently around that Summer 2012 - Early 2013 period as far as I can recall.
The problem was that people were beginning to feel fatigued by the OG God of War Bird's-eye view formula, so many tuned out of the installment. Mind you, God of War 3 came out three years prior, and it was not only the conclusion of the Greek saga but also a technical marvel that pushed the PS3 to its limits. So another prequel felt redundant at that point.
Plus, it was overshadowed by The Last of Us, which came out a few months later. In fact, a lot of games whether PlayStation studio-owned or not, were kind of forgotten and pushed to the wayside in the gaming media circuit. 2013 was the year of The Last of Us Vs Grand Theft Auto 5. So, if you weren't one of those games then you were not getting talked about. Plus, the arrival of the PS4 and the gaming community was ready to move on
Regarding Ascension, I thought it did some cool thing graphically and mechanically. Kind of felt like an early PS4 with how beautiful it looked. I'd say give it a try but do not touch the multi-player mode

Everything always comes back around to being Last of Us fault nowadays lmaooo, like Gears of War before it with its standardizing camera and lack of color
And yeah I kinda figured, plus with how desperate to "grow up" media wanted games to be and how they downplay tf out of God of War's story telling and deeper messages of the og trilogy n psp games until literally Ragnarok with retrospectives
Sucks tho they still ignore it even tho it is getting better praises the last few years and it's a really cool n pivotal part of the lore - iirc the free dlc of Ragnarok that is basically Kratos therapy sessions with psychologist Tyr makes references to the psp games and ascension but there's no way to play them 💀
Thankfully I played the psp games on the actual psp back in the day cuz it seems like they ain't porting those no more neither even tho they have the collection for them on ps3 - s*** sucks ass
Im still confused why they didnt name it goddess of war. They are litterallly married? It wouldve went hard
These misogynistic nerds wouldn't stfu if they did this

They're already melting down over nothing
S*** irks me so bad but I just have to always remind myself it's just a small corner on the net and that it doesn't really matter
I saw one recent where a dude was claiming ever npc in the new 007 game is just either black or Asian and he was COUNTING
