Stop
I was baiting with that post
Atlanta and Barry probably going to end up high on my list of best series of all time, but it's tough to rank and compare them with dramas like The Wire, Mad Men etc
That's Peraí by Jean Paulo Campos. I remember there was a clip on Twitter a few years ago that used the song and that's how I discovered it. I think it's from a children's show which is kinda weird but the song is undeniably fire
Damn thanks for the source
I think I'm going to book a sensory deprivation tank appointment soon
It's time for me to finally have a Dep Date

I've probably done like 5 sessions. they're pretty cool once you get used to them, great for stress relief or to try to think differently about problems
dude who invented them used to take massive doses of ketamine before going into the tanks to the point where he was talking to dolphins

No cap, I been considering doing it for years after I get consistent with meditation but I never do. I also watch Judge Judy everyday, I'm watching it right now
Atlanta might be the most relatable show I've ever watched

What is it like? You're just surrounded by darkness? Are you conscious the whole time?

yea it's sensory deprivation so the idea is you can't see or hear anything and you're in room temperature water that has like 800 pounds of salt so that you float
basically it turns off everything but your mind. it's a great way to meditate or just relax

If you've done psychedelics, would you say it's similar (obviously without the visuals)? Been considering it, but I feel like I'm just going to lay there floating for 30 minutes without anything changing
Like I'm not that stressed or anything

big fan of shrooms, but I'd say floating is a much different experience
it's not really a change in your consciousness, moreso a deeper dive into your psyche. my sessions were 90 minutes
if you're not stressed or don't have things you want to work through/reflect on you might not get as much out of it
of course you could combine psychedelics with floating for a crazy trip

I'm in Georgia right now and just drove past this shopping district that had an Asian restaurant with a Rainbow store beside it

I imagine that would be crazy and I'd love to experience that but I'm never taking shrooms in public
I can't imagine trying to drive myself home after experiencing that

What was the worst episode of Atlanta?
I think to me it was Values but it still wasnt a bad episode

Yeah I think I’d rank the show the same but my only differences is that I’d probably 2 as #1 I just watched that season more than anything I probably watched it more than I’ve watched most shows just period but 4 is so good and so so close don’t get me wrong

While writing that post, I considered putting 4 = 2 so they're very close for me as well. But S2 has that Drake episode and I don't love Woods as much as everyone else does
Then you have Helen, which I realize is important for Earn and Van's relationship but that's probably the least interesting aspect of the whole series to me. Like I don't fw Snipe Hunt that much either
S2 also has this ominous feeling. Everyone is going through it and you deadass feel like some of characters could be harmed at some points. Obviously Al has Woods and Earn is faced with the pressure of Al firing him, then him having the gun at the airport at the end. But my heart was in my throat for Darius watching Ted Perkins the first time. And that creepy dude who approached Van at that Drake party
I prefer the security the characters have in S4, financial and otherwise
Barbershop, Teddy Perkins and FUBU are classics. But S4 just barely edges over S2 imo. A lot of it has to do with that finale, gives an entirely new perspective for the whole show and I think that's incredible writing

He dropped BTI and the screenplay and said “let’s make this into a show”
Commendable as s***
