I don’t really understand why he doesn’t wanna be with her
She’s so cool and beautiful man he’s out of his mind, I’m sure there’s a reason though I can’t wait to figure it out cuz that’s my biggest question lol
look up avoidant attatchment style
I wonder how they’ll handle something like that. It would be such a tone shift cause most of the show is super comedic
2 characters in season 2 were put in violent near death experiences. Atlanta could easily do it
Atlanta is dark af post-season 1

oh for sure man, I deal with this a lot
I just figured it was a bit deeper than that, I’ll find out soon I guess

I remember an interview I read a while ago, he said something like that's the relationships he saw in black communities growing up. Uncles and aunties that are together, but not really committed to each other and together in a typical family setting. I got the same vibe from The Alligator Man and the woman he was with
this off brand Michael Jackson is crazy as s***
Did you notice that's actually Donald Glover?
Putting spoilers on this because there's someone here who didn't watch S3 yet but I got the feeling that Earn didn't actually know what masters is and he was capping when Al asked him
Feel like that could be a source of conflict between them in S4
WHAT
You can kinda see it when he smiles really wide, but yeah it's him
Even people on set didn't recognize him, he stayed in character and they thought that's just some weird MJ looking mf

man lmaoooo
I would have never known if you didn’t say something but man I see it now

Can't believe Donald didn't win an Emmy for that

God, I hope not. It would be unbelievably out of character for Earn. Even now, as a super successful manager, the guy is constantly bending over backwards to help Al in anyway he can - even if it's straining their relationship.
Also, the entire point of Al choosing Earn to be a manager is that Earn has his back in a world where no one does.

how the hell would Earn not know what masters are??
I know all about that and I’m not in the music industry nor did I go to Princeton. the idea of him lying about Al owning them is plausible but not knowing what they are at all… nah

Oh i didn't see he said that Earn didn't know what they are.
If that's a plot point, it'd be dumb af. Even dumber than the idea of him lying to Al.

It just seems out of character for earn to sell his masters out

I’m conflicted. Earn was really on his P’s and Q’s during season 3, which makes sense bc he’s been doing this for 3-5 years at this point so I don’t see him fumbling PB’s masters at all during that time
but for the Earn of seasons 1 and 2 who was still making mistakes and learning the business, I could see him messing up Al’s contract by mistake. It’s ultimately irrelevant tho bc I don’t think this issue will ever be brought up again on the show but I’d be glad if they proved me wrong

100%, if earn did somehow f*** up then it definitely wouldn’t have been out of malicious intent

agreed

I agree with second paragraph
I just got the feeling Earn wasn't being completely honest when Al asked. Nigga looked at him like
and Earn didn't know wtf he was doing at first. Was great to see him on top of s*** in S3, Cancer Attack had me like

To respond to your post above, we all know the concept of Masters, but we don't know all the details and s*** dealing with publishing, rights etc to the point that we'd be able to negotiate a contract with a label. That's more what I meant, not that he had no idea. I need to rewatch but I think Al said Masters and Earn needed him to explain what he meant by that, almost as if he's familiar with the word but not sure what it really means
And that's exactly what I'm thinking - Earn accidentally f***ed Al over in S2 in a deal with those weird white dudes who also signed Clark County and maybe later realized it but just never came clean. I don't see a reason why he'd lie about it for all that time tho, maybe afraid of Al firing him like he almost did in S2?
