I think y’all are running with a different meaning of untrustworthy than me.

I’m not talking about niggas being clumsy and forgetful and ohh I can’t trust you with my money cus you might accidentally lose it.

I’m clearly talking about backstabbing type of untrustworthy

So let’s run with this: Earn is more likely to backstab you than Darius is. That should clear it up.

But you using that clumsy and forgetful argument against Earn as well.

It wasn't until paperboy confronted him. Then he pulled out the gun and initiated the shooting.

So nah, much different. Paperboy had every opportunity to walk from it.

The real life or death scenario for paperboy was in the woods episode. Because he was actually attacked.

The first episode paperboy confronted due and then had quite a bit of time to decide and still went for the gun. He made it a life or death scenario himself

Fam you can front on this site all you want but Niggas ain’t “walking away” from a dude who vandalized ya car for no reason at all. I don’t believe you that p**** to just let someone violate you like that so let’s be realistic here.

Earn was clumsy and forgetful to leave the gun in his bag YES. But what did he end up doing? Backstabbing Clark’s team.

Not that part. lts perfectly logical from paperboy to confront dude BEFORE he flashes the gun. That's where he makes that choice.

Bro if you wanna act like you out here getting in gunfights over car mirrors that's fine but I don't believe it.

The confrontation is fine. You walk away after he flashes the gun because that's what he signaling like "you sure you wanna do this" that's where Al said yeah I'm willing to risk it all for a mirror which we all know is dumb. And got him thrown in jail, and he's lucky they couldn't get enough evidence on him.

Between that and prison? Yeah makes sense.

Let's not act like al ain't doing the same if he shooting people over a mirror lmaoo

Earn doing that is actually what earned paperboi's trust

I’m not acting like anything, I’m letting you know ya little holier than tho “walk away” isn’t realistic. And the bigger point, Paperboys actions doesn’t fall in line wit him being untrustworthy so I don’t even know why we discussing this.

I mean yeah i said in my last couple of post that Darius isnt malicious or wouldnt hurt you on purpose

Id trust Earn to get something done before Darius, but Darius is probably a better friend

But still i dont think earn is as big of a snake as ur making him out to be

He backstabbed a nigga he was cool with and going on tour with. You can admit he did some backstabbing s*** bro.

If Clark wasn’t there it could of been Darius he placed the blame on instead.

It’s not that he’s this big huge snake, it’s that he’s very capable of being one whereas Darius isn’t. From all we’ve seen.

Listen this discussion is about 4 characters, not a big pool of ppl. So yes on the most likely to be a snake list, Earn and Van fall in at the top.

Yes it is lol. People walk away over getting shot all the time. Especially when you have a multimillion dollar deal on the table what are you talking about? I see people walking away rather than being shot multiple times a year because an argument with some hothead ain't worth your life.

Holier than thou my ass it's called not f***ing up the bag for a car mirror.

And you the one who went into this big spiel where you have to go in guns blazing every single confrontation as if that's your life while you simultaneously post everyday on a kanye west fansite lmfao.

And I brought it up to show bro is a hothead and is liable to jump to violence on a whim. Not always the most rational dude to make the right decisions especially for people he don't know.

Tbf Clark's team was already trying to poach paperboy from Earn at every opportunity.
    Honestly, two birds one stone.

Chase manager was trying to get paperboy from day 1.

Okay cool, so how is any of that equivalent to being untrustworthy in a backstabbing way?

Hopefully it drops pretty soon, even a year is not a problem

Waiting for 4 years for this to end up being a show full of surrealism

Every other episode is about other unique characters that are not the main cast - in a show containing 10 episodes total

On a technical level the show is better than both previous seasons I'm not debating that

But they put the main characters' stories aside to tell a far "grander" story in nuanced ways about how racism is bad (and the consequences still being visible) in the other episodes which is a trope they don't have to do, feels like a safe way to do those then you can't critique em because you are racist then if you do

imo i think it’s a lot deeper than just racism is bad and i enjoy the « curse » metaphor bc we often think of « generational traumas » as only affecting black people

i think the idea that it affects the entire world, and how we are still trying to rid ourselves of these historical demons (white and black) is fascinating

@AmoryBlain Glad you chopped it up though

anytime bro, i may come off as a stan but i’m not tryna say anyone HAS to like the show bc it’s intellectual or something

i just think it’s worth the discussion, even if u hate these episodes, it’s worthwhile to talk about them bc they open up for great conversations

I know and I made a comment ITT during that episode asking if they're the same person or if we're gonna witness Earn turn white

we’ve already witnessed earn turn white (constant manipulation and lying throughout this season to get what he wants/thinks id best for his family) and i think the van episode showcased it’s more socially acceptable for earn to turn « white » than van is

more nuanced then that and i have to return to this thought, but that’s what i get out of this season

I definitely don't hate em, I just didn't enjoy it as a season considering we waited since 2018, it's alright though

  • idk I really enjoyed this season but I'm a sucker for surrealist/absurdist entertainment. I agree that there are some plot holes and I get some people wish the main cast was featured more but all in all I found that the episodes in this season have stayed in my head longer than the first 2 seasons, as great as they were. interested to see how they do the final season

  • also the cameos were so on point this season, especially chet hanks and liam neeson. even tho I wasn't a big fan of kevin samuels as a person/content creator, his role was great too
