HANDS
"I had a weird dream.
I was swimming in this pool, but it was like the ocean
and I was swimming with the seaweed, but it wasn't seaweed,
it was, like, hands.
And I was swimming with this girl.
And she was saying if the hands grab you,
they pull you down and drown you, so swim above them.”

..... im talking about the connection with hands in this episode
This is the 3rd mention of hands in the show
Maybe the "hands" got a hold of Van
If they get a hold of you, you end up dying, and its always in the state of Atlanta.
And thats why she felt a dark energy basically "grab" her and make her want to just die.
Idk just a theory
… i’m going to sleep bro i’m not even gonna try and understand this episode
sorry man. right there with you.
people really in the Donald Glover discord insulting others for criticizing this episode
sorry man. right there with you.

People trying to a***yze it to justify Van trafficking for cannibals.
Remember when she said one of those guys ate a baby?

Nah she wasn't sayin one of those dudes ate babies
The French dudes nicknamed Van 'Terrare'. And Van explained to her friends that Terrare was a guy who ate a baby
Its an old legend

So they knew Van was helping cannibals?
They were good people the whole time?
God this episode is f***ed. How is Van redeemable after this?

You know, its funny... critics didn't really like last weeks episode, but fans loved it
And critics are giving this new episode really good scores, but fans don't like it
kind of in awe about how bad that was
no no no
you just don't understand it

Was holding out hope this episode would at the very least attempt to tie a thread or two together but nope
I’m 10 minutes in but this episode is lookin like a classic.
This season is gonna be so good in hindsight.
Can't wait to rewatch the whole season later, but overall there was a lot I liked about the season. Gorgeous cinematography, funny writing, shocking moments, and memorable dialogue.
It was maybe too ambitious for it's own good, but I respect the writers for taking such big risks. There really isn't anything like Atlanta on TV. I definitely understand the backlash for the lack of the main cast, it seems like the writers real focus was just making short stories and that's it. Definitely a controversial choice
Well if they think they can wrap up the series in 8 more episodes, I'll trust that those 8 episodes are high quality and can end things in a dope way
My current ranking for season 3 episodes are :
New Jazz
Rich Wigga, Poor Wigga
White Fashion
Three Slaps
Cancer Attack
Old Man and The Tree
Trini 2 De Bone
Sinkerlaas is Coming To Town
Terrare
The Big Payback
I'm sure the ranking will change with time, i genuinely don't think there were any bad episodes this season tho
See you guys back in Atlanta this fall
