unless you watch fx, they don’t drop it officially until Monday/Tuesday unfortunately
i need to see it also
my streaming site has stopped having the promos it’s insane !
“who’s Ray J’s sister?” should have been a question during the interview
yes!
Favorite part of the episode.
them niggas saying clarence thomas got his is so od
Outkast reference:

“Stop digging so deep” I seen this s*** twice and still ain’t peep that
Source?
Source? Nigga me lol. We deadass had an assembly which all black males got an offer to some college in Florida. Was extra hilarious that a white homie got the invite there too (I guess by accident) we were dying laughing fr 😂😂😂😂😂
So yeah this hit different
do y’all really think that’s his blood father
Thought it was his step father at first
To really understand this s*** u gotta be an atlanta nigga this hilarious because this fr happen wit some college in Florida 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
lmao fr? ong? lmfao
lol wanted to defend him bc i love the writing team so much but they’re just ego trippin
only good explanation is he maybe saw some yt ppl over a***yzing in ways that are so far off the conversation they should be having around the episode, but honestly feels like if that was the case it can just be said lol
like at least say « don’t take the show too deep, you’ll miss out on the fun of just watching it » which i think is true. the depth of the show is beautiful to unravel but i like just laughing along to the dark comedy of the show
but nigga just sounds pretentious and i hâte using that word lol
I hate saying pretentious too but there’s no other way to describe it lol.
Usually on my first watch I just take in the show for what it is on a surface level and enjoy it. Then on a 2nd and 3rd watch I dive deep and explore the layers and then come on here and discuss wit y’all. I don’t see why they’d have a problem with that.
Nah this nigga was throwing around hard R’s and making monkey noises but now wanna be black when it’s convenient (sounds about white)
Now his b**** left him for a real nigga
this post is so interesting to me cus like
I often wonder what the point of these types of episodes is. Not to say that they're pointless, just that it's tricky trying to figure out the intentions n s***.
Cus I mean one possible explanation is that Donald Glover and the rest of the Atlanta team are trying to find sympathy for characters like the dude in this episode. or the white guy who lost his home n wife to reparations, s*** like that. Sometimes it really seems like the goal is to get people to relate to and feel for these characters.
But then u look at how ppl are actually reacting to this s*** and its like this complete and absolute lack of empathy lol. like haha look at this d***head f*** that dude. Which like yea I get it that's how I feel after a lot of these episodes too. But if the goal of the writers is to develop sympathy for these characters its kind of crazy to see how hard they are failing lol. Just that like lack of empathy is so interesting to me.
yes I know so long TLDR: its crazy to me the lack of empathy for the main characters in these non-earn episodes

I guess apparently one of the Atlanta writers said this? Idk it comes off pretentious af. Like you’re mad that y’all have created absurd s*** and die hard fans spends their time tryna find deep meaning in the layers?
I personally would love that my fans are coming up wit theories of my work. That’s what makes the show more fun and memorable.
retarded ngl
"uhh yea fans of the show? please stop thinking about the show so much, care less about it okay? ur ruining the vibe."
sounds like a prick I cant hold u
I do get it tho cus u can def get lost in the sauce yk. the way those dweeb channels like volksgeist n s*** get in the way of enjoying good music

Obviously I can’t speak for the writers goals but I hope this episode wasn’t to make you feel empathy?
I mean any type of empathy you might of gained gets instantly reversed when he roast the Nigerian dude.
I think there’s no right or wrong way to interpret it. I think it simply just exist and depending on who you are in life will determine how you relate.
Like I’m sure biracial dudes that are white passing connect to this in a way of “not feeling black enough”
I’m sure darker skinned dudes look at this like “yup white passing dudes love using white privilege and separating from us until it’s convenient”
And then I’m sure Nigerian can relate in a way as “we’re black too with more color than most, yet African Americans treat us different because black culture is different in Nigeria”

Thing is I’ve never seen anyone dislike the show because they dove too deep. I’ve seen people love and appreciate the show even more as more layers get revealed.

isn't it weird that a TV show would write a one off episode where you aren't meant to relate to the main character?
Also, you can't tell me biracial dudes will connect to the main guy like literally two sentences after telling me you hope the goal wasn't for you to connect with the main guy.
It's just like it feels to me that the writers keep pulling out all the stops to make u feel bad for the main character in these concept episodes right? Like in the reparations episode the guy didn't have to lose his home, kids AND wife like dam bro. It's like "here's this guy, yes he's problematic, but look at how awful and hard his life is don't you feel bad for him". Except then after the episode ends I don't feel bad for the main guy really. And nobody else does online. It's just strange. Like I feel I should empathize w these characters but I don't? There's some contradictory stuff here, I guess is what I'm getting at.
I mean one possible conclusion is that we are meant to be able to empathize w these characters, like treat them as humans too, and twitter has just corrupted everyone's souls so much that empathy across social lines becomes impossible. But that seems like a reach, like some Fox News bullshit.
but then if we aren't supposed to empathize w these characters why do we keep getting the same storyline of some white guy going through a hard time like...
sorry I know that's a lot I'm just thinking out loud

i said I dont think the goal was meant to feel empathy, not connect or relate.
I'm sure plenty of biracial dudes can connect to the fact of not feeling black enough the same way they made the main dude feel. You can connect to certain aspects of a character while disagreeing with other parts (Like when he threw around the hard r)
Also the take on emphasizing with characters, I was only referring to this episode not previous ones. A lot of ppl in here have said the other anthology episodes kinda serves as educational purposes for white people.
