    Hm what you tryna say?

The OP looks like a press release that says "they were shot in sequence"

But then I could've sworn I saw something a couple days ago about the one with Nandos being the first one they shot

    Just weird is all

I do feel like the execution was a little off. I think satire can get away with being unsubtle. To me, that’s one of the charms of satire.

But on further reflection I think I’ve identified a problem with this episode. It’s an issue of character.

I liked the concept, but as far as following a character for a whole episode… this guy was bland. Bland by design, but bland is bland. There wasn’t a whole lot of interior life to him.

I think it was a strong idea that needed to be fleshed out a little more, to approach something as ambitious as they were trying.

I have no problem with diversions like this. They took a risk, and to me, they hit the mark at like a B+. I’m definitely not mad at it.

What type on interior s*** would you have liked to see from his character? Examples

I never like speculating too much on scenarios cause I’m not the writer. But I mean just literally like a couple more scenes with him and his daughter or him and his wife. Talking about s*** that is prodding at their insecurities around race. I just felt like it’d hit harder if those relationships were developed a lil more.

That was the moment where it jumped the shark for me too like dog.

Like are they fr spelling it out for mfs right now? That was some full house level end of episode moral of the story exposition s*** lmao

Yeah no lie I was rolling my eyes at that dialogue. I was surprised that Gambino wrote a white dude heavy hand explaining slavery to another white guy. One of my pet peeves is “think like this-on the nose dialogue”

I wouldn’t be surprised if the dude also ended up saying “you tired of hearing about racism, well black people are tired of dealing with racism” or other terms niggas be using

See this is why I have an issue with the main cast not being present, they’ve had time to be fleshed out. Whereas these random new characters can’t be developed as deeply in the span of 25 minutes.

But I def would have preferred more character depth rather than the white dude on the nose explaining slavery

Do some of you realise that you're just 'upset' with the show because it's not conforming to the idea that you've put in your head of what it should be? Your attachment to your illusory idea is robbing you of the enjoyment you could've had, had you just chosen to sit and deal with what it actually is presenting itself to be, rather than what you want it to be.

Not trying to attack anyone btw. It's just that I'm clearly seeing this being their greatest season so far, yet it's not reaching some people as it should. Is that really on the show though?

Here’s my take on the end. This white guy has lowkey been carrying around this white guilt his whole life. He’s been uncomfortable around black people all this time. But now, he’s free of that feeling. It’s like a clean slate. We’re even now. The curse has lifted. So he comes to realize that this is a happy ending for him.

Of course there’s no monetary value you can assign to slavery, but I think that’s what these two guys are thinking.

I don’t think the idea comes together that clear tho. What are your thoughts on this?

It's wild to see people aren't trusting the writers vision for this season, they aren't throwing these episodes in here just for filler purposes

We just gotta wait to see how it all ties in.
I mean even the fact that white Earnest has shown up twice this season and is a sort of otherworldly type of character that shows up in dreams, shows that there is much more to this season than what we've seen
