Appreciate it man, the first part isn't really that hard if you parry well, it just takes such a long time that dying feels super demoralising
You got me back into the game lmao I had a relatively fresh NG started and now I’m about to beat it again
owl was giving me that f***ing work but every other boss I pretty much have been handling first try

Nice man, Beating Elden Ring made me wanna tie up my From loose ends, just beat DS1 the other night, waiting to get a PS5 to play my copy of DS3, might do a NG+ Bloodborne run since I forgot to eat the cords first time around, but Sekiro's been the biggest challenge of all, it's been said many times, but the fact that you genuinely need to git gud is the best and most frustrating thing about the game
Great fight tho, you got this.
Finally got him
The crazy thing about this game is that when you do beat a boss, it feels easy, it just forces you to be better

Spend 3 hours busting your ass on a boss > Final attempt you kill them while barely taking any damage
The From formula is goat

my doooogg. Funny thing is after I replied to you I was basically at that fight, I “beat” him first try but didn’t feel like I did it “stylishly” enough
So I purposefully died and then of course I couldn’t beat him again for another 5 tries or so
Sekiro definitely gives some of the best “skill wins” feelings compared to their other games. But I do love the feeling of putting together a build
I’ve been on this f***ing gauntlet of severance for DAYS I’m going f***ing insane I just literally had the last phase of inner isshin JUST about to break posture and he f***ing combos me to low health and the PUSHES ME OFF THE CLIFF
S*** is not even fair f*** off

I used every item at my disposal when I finally got him. I mastered his s*** until the last phase.
The black blade, I forgot what it's called because it's been a minute was my saving grace for much of it

Man I'm not gonna lie I did the secret demon boss and then finally put the game down after. Isshin was the peak for me.
Anyone got any non-spoilery tips for what to do story-wise to make sure I can get all the boss fights?

This guide is good and spoiler free but yeah that person you just met at the temple is important

Incredibly helpful dude, thanks so much
When I messed up the Bloodborne ending and didn't get the secret final boss first time around I was MAD, don't wanna risk that happening again
Figuring out you can beat a boss just through parrying is a beautiful moment
then you realize you have to parry basically everything and all the tools and skills are useless and the game falls flat imo
it’s just a parrying simulator
this the worst fromsoft game imo
1. Elden ring
2. Bloodborne
3. Dark souls trilogy
4. Demon souls
5. Sekiro
The variety in combat and builds is totally lost here, you can’t find weapons or armor so exploration is less fun, all the bosses just require parrying. Bloodborne is like 5 years older but feels so much more complex.

Worst or least preferred? There's a difference

What? No there isn’t
If you think something is the worst then it’s your least preferred
There’s no objective best or worst in art

way better than demons souls IMO. Honestly a little unfair to compare them because the gameplay is so different from soulsbourne games, almost like comparing Armored Core to soulsbourne, just because they're both FromSoft titles.
The art direction and cohesion in sekiro is impeccable, easily up there in terms of vision alongside bloodborne. Definitely understand not enjoying the gameplay as much as their other games where there is more mix and matching builds and stats, but that's why IMO it's hard to compare. Sekiro is way more action oriented than RPG.
In typical FromSoft fashion if you compare Sekiro to other action oriented games from other companies it's in another class, but I guess it's fair to say its your least favorite of the From games

That's what's I'm saying, it's an action/stealth game not an RPG so I wouldn't say not having build variety is a negative because it wasn't designed to have builds. It's too different to just compare and say it's worse

Nope. Ghost of tsushima had more complex and fun combat and it’s not an rpg

I can't think of any complex systems in Ghost tbh

you can approach combat in different ways, ranged combat with bows, bombs, etc. stealth felt better because of that too, it’s not just a series of pressing parry or counter whenever they do a move
also you could find and equip different charms for your weapon to get unique bonuses so there was good customizability. and doing certain quests to find different bows or swords was satisfying imo it made me wanna do quests
and there’s 4 different battle stances that give you variety in melee combat, it just feels sekiro makes you play a certain way and just sort of focus on deflecting and countering
