The beauty of the OG was the balance between the lightness and how they talked about real problems with class.

They took everything the show was and thrown it away just to make a drama that looks average at best

I was like what are they even doing. I havent seen the short its inspired by but this is near parody of "lets show the black experience ripped from headlines" like it was just odd

I don’t view this as a reboot that is aimed to replace the original. The story from the sitcom could be fleshed out a lot more with this way of telling it tbh

these are two different shows telling the same story in two different ways and I’m with that

I see the vision but whether or not they can execute that vision is another thing
