i dont think these types of threads/subreddits/etc would remain alive if most of us didnt feel like there's more otw and we ought to hear it simply bc we're fansand like i said, iont deny that there are fans who constantly bring up ryan as a token to shutdown to the pleas and cries. in some ways that's wrong.. and in some ways i dont blame them. nonBlack people dont take Black death nearly as serious as it is, id say the majority of casual frank fans dont even know that happened or care and grief isnt just a 1 & done "oh its been 3 years, im completely ight to make music for consumption now" thing -- or at least not for everyone
so if frank is ready and public about creating music like you say, that's fine but i also have to reconcile that with knowing he's a person who may or may not feel the pang of losing their younger brother at any given moment
and again, those who coddle V defend an artist's right to mull over their work, aren't necessarily the same people. that's the disconnect im tb there
wat really helped me was seeing someone say something to the effect of "real fans are completely fine with never hearing anything from their favorite artists ever again"
and maybe when u hear that it sounds f***ing stupid.. but i think about some of my favorites who've died and never got to release anything again. or seeing people clamor for more and dont spend every second really sitting with the work that's already been put out... blonde came out 10 years ago and im still pulling from it, still feeling new things, still eternally grateful for how it might've changed me in ways i dont understand
thats all im saying. appreciate what's there, be pleasantly surprised for whatever's next - if anything.
I hear you and don't disagree with any of this honestly all your points are fair. your point about artists dying and appreciating what they gave us is poignant too that gives a bit of perspective

vinguat this point i doubt he's working on an actual album. i think he just makes music you know? i feel like with an artist like frank who at least somewhat reflect the times he lives in you can't really take this long to make it and then be satisfied with it like five years later. you're a completely different person at that point. that might have been more possible when you're your 20s, in his case making blonde, and what little we have of that album's development we can see just how much that one changed over the four years.
and at the same time, if i were him i wouldn't wanna drop music in this climate either. i used to really want his perspective on things like when i was a teenager, but now im like what the hell would he know? he's probably just as lost as we all are, especially as out of touch as he is with the average human condition these days.

2016: blonde and endless
2017 & 2018: about 12 songs or so including features
2019: gearing up for release + first few singles
2020: 2 singles, pandemic and death of Ryan
2021 - 2023: iceman freestyle, release of Homer (which I believe was an earnest creative outlet/statement), Coachella, blonded radios that felt as though they were building to something, insta snippets 1 & 2, beginnings of the movie
2024-2026: diary snippet, actually making movie.There seem to be signs the movie has been completed and a 2027 release feels realistic but obv there’s the chance it does not happen. I get the frustrations people have and Frank surely does take longer than most but I feel like learning an entire new career to the standard you want, even with all the time and resources at your disposal, takes a while.
I’m sure grief follows Frank. I’m sure he has his days that feel normal too. Both are valid. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the normal days outnumber the grieving days after 6 years, but it’s also okay if they don’t.
