I forgot I had Soul Drain until like 60% of the way through my run so bosses were hell up to that point.
I definitely want Hard Mode to be available from the beginning next time since that's the most engaging way to play imo. The Shinra challenges were by far my favorite battles in the game
foreal, Hard Mode was actually really fun, that plus the shinra challenges really push you to think about materia setups and make the gameplay way more engaging.
I really can't wait for part 2, I feel like they already have such a good foundation with what they did with this and if they improve what they have here in anyway the game will be insane
Finally out of the reactor and met Aerith, she’s bad asf
They did such a fantastic job with the church scene. Just as magical and angelic as the original.
Cloud actually agile asf
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW6Btd0Pce8Obviously it aint gonna seem that way when you playing a turn based game.
The problem with your argument is that Barret isn't always in the party, I don't think he is in the majority of the game actually and you still face a lot of flying enemies. Once you get up in the air you literally only 2 possible outcomes. You attack the enemy or you get hit, get staggered and fall to the ground.
I feel you. I think they went with combat more faithful to the OG game than to this. It seems more intentionally frustrating than a design failure to me but to each their own
Enjoying the game way more now, getting to the sector 5 slums, fighting Shiva and doing sidequests were fun. Gotta start thinking about build set ups
Full steam ahead.

i’m excited for Part 2
Rlly glad ppl for the most part accepted the ending and didn’t trash it for being different.

I thought it was cool af that they basically said you can change the timeline
Can't wait to eventually play this, replaying the original on the switch rn. I think Mako Reactor is the single greatest piece of music in video games.
Need part 2...
Dog so bad, considering how long it took for the 1st part I’m sure they won’t drop it until like summer 2022 at the earliest tho
I'm thinking 2023 or 2024. Mostly because I think FFXVI is a 2022 title, and >3 years development time for a big budget FF title would be insane in this era. Though it's possible management has just gotten better these days
Apparently FF7 Remake part 2 entered active development last summer, so maybe they've just gotten their s*** together on that front.
Square Enix trademarks Ever Crisis, The First Soldier, and Shinra logo in Japan
Square Enix filed trademarks for “Ever Crisis” and “The First Soldier” on December 17, 2020 in Japan, as well as the Shinra Electric Power Company logo on December 22. All three trademarks were just made public today.
All three trademarks seem to be related to Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII series:
“Ever Crisis” shares a similar name to the 2004-released mobile game Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII and 2007-released PSP game Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.
“The First Soldier” seems to be a reference to Sephiroth, the main villain of the Final Fantasy VII series.
The Shinra Electric Power Company is an organization in the world of Final Fantasy VII.

Ever Crisis probably just some whack new mobile game or something, wouldn't get ya hopes up on that one.
First SOLDIER is possibly a DLC chapter for FF7R though? I could see them including new content built into a PS5 re-release to incentivise new players, which they might then release separately as DLC for PS4 owners.
